I was looking forward to the next book in the Pink Bean series and this did not disappoint. I love this couple. Jill the honest psychiatrist who has a love at first sight moment with her new client, Amelia. This is the start of the story and it unravels, with Jill realizing she can not treat Amelia. When she is forced to tell her why she is transferring her to another psychiatrist, Amelia wants the whole truth and when she hears why, she is surprised but yet curious. Their story takes off and I am so impressed with Jill and her honesty and the way she shows how she feels about Amelia on her face. Amelia who has suffered a burnout and is trying to find meaning in her stagnant life, suddenly has feelings surfacing regarding Jill. I loved where this story went and was absolutely honed in with the sexual tension that was between them. Harper Bliss is such a leader in how she lays out a sexual scene and we the reader get so absorbed. This book went too quickly and I needed to know more about Jill and Amelia’s relationship. Hopefully we will see them again in the next book.
The journey to love at its finest. Jill and Amelia were two unsuspecting souls finding what makes their lives complete. The Pink Bean series is a journey of discovery, pain, trust, love, and believing in oneself again. An amazing adventure of the heart, soul, and mind of our Lesbian community. I’m at a loss for words to give it higher praise. I love Harper’s fertile mind and her strength in tackling the difficult and painful issues we face. I have read her works over and over again. My favorite is At The Waters Edge ... so powerful and profound. I enthusiastically, heartily, and unequivocally recommend this book and any other works by Harper Bliss. Thank you Peace
A Client enters a psychiatrist office and the psychiatrist falls for the new patient, especially for her kissable lips. I was hoping to see more of the pinks beans characters but it did not happen, except for mentioning of the ladies as cameos. Which at the beginning confused me, with unrelated protagonists and or characters.
An excellent story, well written with a surprise ending. Two different ladies falling for each other without saying "I love you". Mature ages of 45 to 50. Love is forever, soccer well .....
There is only so much one can put into a review of any book by Harper Bliss. The words that come to mind first are love, friends, amazing story lines, heartfelt relationships and the list could go on and on. I loved both Jill and Amelia in this one. I loved visiting with my old friends from the previous books. Everything on every page is captivating and seems so real. If you want to make yourself happy---read this book or better yet----read the whole series! Harper, you continue writing the best books and I thank you for every one of them!
Loved the new characters... Have me peek into my future of sorts. I wonder at what she one can start over career wise or how I can spend time with my wife years from now. Thanks Harper Bliss for your continuous works of art ❤

Amelia, 45, was a biochemical researcher for a big pharmaceutical company. She was referred to a psychiatrist by her GP because she suffered from a severe case of burnout. Even though she took time off from her job, she continued to show up for her goal keeping duties for her amateur soccer team.
At their very first meeting, Jill, 49, a very seasoned and highly professional psychiatrist found herself so attractive to Amelia that she needed to talk to her own therapist about that attraction. She didn’t want to cross any ethical lines and considered referring her to another psychiatrist. After Amelia’s second therapy session, Jill’s feelings took control of her professional mind and she had no choice but to confess her feelings to Amelia and recommended another psychiatrist. However, Amelia wasn’t ready to date, and Jill didn’t feel it was right to date a former client…or so they thought.
This can be classified as love at first sight for one character. As soon as Jill saw Amelia, she had to fight her attraction while still trying to maintain a sense of professionalism. I read a few other books along this line, but this was the quickest attraction by far. So the title, At First Sight, was definitely a perfect fit for this storyline.
The characters were likable even though I really didn’t like the way Jill handled her attraction to Amelia. She seemed to place her own attraction and needs ahead of Amelia’s recovery from her burnout. I also thought Jill’s ex boyfriend was going to make an appearance since he was spoken about so often, especially between Jill and her colleague, Patrick. But that never happened.
Harper Bliss is a great writer and tackles all kinds of stories from the light hearted romance ones like this series to the more intense storylines like suicide. I personally enjoyed the latter stories more because of its level of depth. However, if you enjoyed the Pink Bean series, you will find this light hearted romance just as entertaining with some of the characters from the other books making appearances and adding to its entertainment factor.
A good writer but this did not leave me with the usual sense of satisfaction at the end. A counsellor, Jill, immediately falls for her new client, Amelia... which, of course, is a complete no-no. The two lovely characters try to steer their way though the obvious pitfalls as their relationship won't be halted. The ending was rather vague and what was Vic's reaction to Jill ignoring her instructions?
This author and series never disappoints. The writing style, the flow complemented by the characters and storyline, just wow. If you haven't read this series your missing out. But although connected each book can be read as a standalone.
This has been a great series of books. Another two new characters, a very engaging relationship and seeing the couples from earlier series an added bonus.
