Another book full of perfection by one of my most favorite authors...Brooklyn and Andrew have taken my emotions on quite the roller coaster ride. This story is full of firsts...kiss, love, heartbreak and our H/h have quite a history together. Brooklyn is the best friend of Drew's little sister and because of that she's always been "off limits."
But at some point the feelings they have for each other just can't be denied and just when they decide to explore a very important first, the rug is pulled out from under them and Brooklyn's world as she knows it changes. This also plays an important part in how she treats love going forward.
Life moves on for each of them and before they know it, Drew is a single dad of two beautiful little girls, coaching college hockey after he's retired from the NHL and doesn't want to get into another relationship....at least not with the woman he's "seeing." Brooklyn is dating a man that puts her first and wants to marry her. Unfortunately, Brooklyn's heart still belongs to another.
I laughed, cried and swooned reading this story. The way Drew loves Brooklyn from "afar" alternately frustrated me and made my heart smile. Revealing what really happened all those years ago could change the trajectory of Brooklyn's life and he's not sure he wants to be responsible for that. And because their families are close, navigating their way through each other's lives is not always easy. Especially when it's clear they both love each other but it might be too late....or is it?
As you might have guessed because this is a duet we're left waiting for a decision to be made that will bring someone an enormous amount of love and someone else great heartache. I'm SO READY for Redemption!!!
