If you didn't already know to rest, this book informs you, Christian or not, why you need to rest. If you aren't a child of God, this book invites you into the Father's lap and prayerfully you'll desire to know Him in all His goodness.

In Take the Day Off Robert Morris encourages Christians to obey the commandment to take one day a week off from our usual day-to-day activities (spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional) to instead focus on our relationship with God. With outstanding research and scriptural authority, Morris answers our practical questions of what a Sabbath is and who should observe it. He persuasively explains when, why, and how to honor the Lord's day. I highly recommend this book!

This book was written just for me. I am the “queen of busy” and love to be on the go. This book opened my eyes to the importance of the Sabbath rest and allowing ourselves to rest in the arms of the Father. There is so much biblical insight to the Sabbath from the Old and New Testaments. It’s a great book to read and use to reflect on your own priorities and commitments. I highly recommend it.
The last three words sum up Pastor Robert's whole invitation to us to learn about the commandment of God to honor the Sabbath and keep it holy...meaning set apart. It is a day dedicated to refilling your four depleted tanks of spirit, mind, emotions, and body through rest. Pastor Robert puts forth a lot of information, personal experiences, and reasons to persuade us as to the significant importance the Sabbath plays in our lives. He keeps it Biblically grounded. He even extends the subject of rest into the experience of the sabbatical. Because of his writing style and personal stories, it's a warm, friendly, fun read...but it packs a 👊, so be ready for it! I plan to practice the Sabbath now in my own life. It's a great book, and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to increase your faithfulness, service, and obedience to God. After all, the Sabbath is a commandment, as weighty in God's eyes as the other nine!
I enjoy listening to Pastor Robert speak and love his writing style as well. I started reading Take The Day Off shortly after leaving a job that was pulling me back into a less than relaxed state one I returned home each evening. Pastor Robert's weird were timely and gave me much to consider as I now find myself in the position to pursue my entrepreneurial dream. I will be sure to "take the day off" as directed by Pastor Robert but more importantly, by his Boss.

So pragmatic, based on biblical principles, and refreshing. I love how Robert Morris explains big topics in a way that I can understand on multiple levels.
Robert Morris learned the importance of Sabbath rest and practiced it before writing about it. He is engaging, biblically thorough and an outstanding teacher. Be ready to be challenged to rest.
