Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I used this as a textbook for a Spanish history class, and wow. This book was so enjoyable to read! It didn't feel like assigned reading most of the time. Chasteen did an amazing job of writing the text in a way that is informative, eloquent, and inserts his opinions in a way that doesn't cloud the facts. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to learn about Spanish influence throughout history.
It was exactly the right textbook needed for class. It is, of course, used, though there is nothing terribly wrong with that fact that makes it bothersome. Thankful to be able to rent this particular copy for my semester of LAH.
As well as it is written, the author provides no evidence to support the argument that he is making. He is also approaching history through a clear ideological methodology that all historians should avoid. There are no citations, no footnotes, no end notes so one must ask where did this author get his information from and base his assumptions. Clearly this is not properly vetted, peer reviewed, or scholarly work. It is simply his version of Latin American History with no empirical evidence or grounded in supporting multiple sources to argue his thesis.
Not an issue with the content of the book, but rather the physical condition of the book. The page corners were bent, and there was a beverage/mystery liquid stain on some of the pages.
