The women in this series are strong, the topics have been not only topical of the time but relevant to any era. I love the way the author is so descriptive in her settings. Filled with adventure, romance and challenges for the characters.
Really enjoyed learning how people lived in the early days of settlement in Australia, this story gave the true picture of home and outdoor existance so clearly.how they managed after leaving a totally different lifestyle in UK was really brought to life in Beyond the Sunset
I just loved this book Pandora was never really happy to be in Australia it must have been hard for her especially after Cassandra got married to Reece she was quite lonely until Zachary came and told the sister's about the inheritance she jumped at the chance to get back to Lancashire.Leo was such a kind fellow with the animals and to help Cassandra when she had the Sofia how clever was he.Really enjoyed this story.
Having now read the second book of the series, I really loved the continuing story of the sisters. To see Cassandra finally acknowledge Reece’s attention made my day, and to slowly bring in new characters like Zackary and Leo was lovely, the story continued following the youngest sister Pandora s life was so interesting, now for book three..can’t wait!
At the start of this book I was annoyed because it started before the last one ended but I persevered because it eventually got back to where it should be i enjoy trilogies and this was the second book and after the aforementioned it was very good. I look forward to reading the last in the series.
Absolutely brilliant this series The first one being 'Farewell Lancashire' OMG what a read. These are not my usual books or era I read and did so by accident. I will be buying more from this author. Well worth a read the 3 of the Swan River Saga books, in fact you can't only read one! hehehe!
The second book in the Swan River trilogy finds the four sisters now living in Australia, but Pandora is not happy and when an unexpected inheritance means she can return to England, she jumps at the chance.
This is only the start of the story though and as usual nothing is straightforward. We follow Pandora's return to England, but at the same time also keep up with the other three sisters who are still in Australia and what is going on with their lives.
Another great read and looking forward to seeing what the final book in the series holds.
