Live thru the turmoil of the wife s father attempting to break up her marriage . It is a book you will not want to put down.
Wonderful Cosy books to read when agitated or just can't settle to read anything else. I love all Anna Jacobs books, they are my escape, my Valium! Someone wrote a review once on Anna Jacobs books, saying a touch nastily! that her books are all Adult versions of the Famous Five or The Secret Seven don't remember which, but Anna, that really was the greatest compliment!! Keep it up please!!! Just LOVE the historical books best❤️

Having stumbled upon the first of this series by accident, I keenly went on to buy all others in the series. These books are very powerful in providing an evocative atmosphere of the war years and late 1940's. Although I didn't exist in that era, the books have succeeded in transporting me into it and helped me to empathise with the characters. Excellent!
At the beginning it was quite sad for all those who had worked so closely together during the war but having these friends around to help each other was brilliant.Diana's father was a horrid person to treat his own daughter like he did and Francis.I'm glad everything worked out for them in the end.I can't wait to see how they all get on in the next book also to find out what is in the cellar.
There is another one! Is that a quadruplet?? Anyway can't wait to read it. This series is brilliant and a thoroughly good story. Anna Jacobs is brilliant and also has a huge back catalogue to read which I am currently working my way through. If you enjoy family sagas you will enjoy her books.
