Goodnight Stranger by Miciah Bay Gault
I really liked this psychological slow burn. Not sure if it's thriller genre, I guess that's subjective. It was for me.
Many things are relatable, in particular the island community's secrecy and insulation, like it's a social norm. Lydia is so well-defined and real to me in how she tries to navigate these confusing waters.
Reading this was like going home again feels everytime I go.
Miciah writes beautifully. There are so many passages I could point out; my Kindle highlights started looking like one big highlight.
I found Goodnight Stranger while randomly looking at literature sites. Thankfully I found a site that offers suggestions for books that are both well written and intriguing. Some compare Miciah Bay Gault's writing to Shirley Jackson, not an easy thing to live up to yet I can see it.
