experience. Lost, confused, and shunned by their fellow citizens, they sought help from the government (VA)
and others, but they were denied. In order to deal with the many demons swirling around in their head they
turned to drugs and alcohol. It wasn't until many years later that the government realized the serious problem
inflicted upon these dedicated soldiers and help finally was given. By that time Humpty Dumpty had fallen and too many veterans had died without any physical or emotional help. Thankfully, today's returning soldiers
have a host of services and programs to help provide support for our returning veterans, but it took the
sacrifices by the Vietnam veterans to make it happen.
The Vietnam War is an important part of Americana. It has been called the dirtiest war due to the many
