From New York Times bestselling author Evangeline Anderson comes the newest audiobook in the Cougarville series. Steamy and supernatural, the world of Stone Cold Fox is one in which blood and passion burn hot.

Cougarville's mechanic, and resident Alpha fox, shelters a mysterious woman who ignites his protective animal instincts when evil forces try to tear them apart.

Jo Ferrell has been cast out of her home for reasons she doesn’t understand. The grey streak in her hair is gone, her body is younger, and there’s an ominous shadow chasing her. With nowhere else to go, Jo finds shelter in a shed whose owner she wants nothing to do with—but he’s too much to resist.

Reese Cooper has never felt a pull towards a woman like he does towards Jo and his Fox is desperate to claim her as their mate. After offering her a place to stay, Reese finds it difficult to resist his beautiful new roommate. But when dark magic threatens their happiness, Reese will use all of his strength to protect the woman he loves…if he’s not too late.

Stone Cold Fox is a fun, sexy, exciting audiobook that will make readers want to revisit Cougarville again and again.

I enjoyed this book as I did the others. I was incredibly frustrated by the lead woman character. For me since she was a witch and did magic it should’ve been easier for her to deal with the whole shifter idea. That the writer could bring out that response in me made me like the series that much more.
I look forward to listening to more books in the series.

She is a good witch who ingested contaminated water that is changing her into a shifter. This change has her being hunted by evil persons. He found her in his shed. She is very frightened as she is being hunted and is afraid of men. To get her to be unafraid, he shifts into a little fox making her lower her guard. He protects her and loves her, since she had a trauma in her college days. Good story of the characters feelings and emotions during this conflict. Good narrative.

Slow to start but with wonderful characters and chemistry. I enjoyed Reese and Jo. Highly enjoyable and recommend. Great writing and narration.

The story was ok. I just got tired of Jo being indecisive and willfully obtuse. I actually felt Reese deserved better. I was hoping she wasn’t what he had to be stuck with. But even with her stupidity a HEA was done. I just can’t handle any more of these stories.

Not what I expected

While I like both Evangeline Anderson’s Alien Mate Index and Brides of the Kindreds stories this series is only just okay. I keep listening hoping for better, but I’m not a fan. I feel like all the females in this series is spineless and obtuse. The heroine was especially annoying in how much she denied being a shifter. It was hard to believe that she is totally cool with being a witch, but a shifter is too farfetched. I felt bad because she had such a bad experience, but I felt like the whole book was therapy for her and the book needed more action or spell casting or something. This one may be my last one from this series but not of Evangeline Anderson, even with the teaser at the end I’m just not sure I’m up to another one. Narrator was okay, her voice was a bit too much on the soft side and it didn’t help to enhance any excitement.

Heroine is a bore.
