Brittany is a teacher in a small town who has been trying to conceive for over a year and is about ready to give up. Then one of her students invites her to spend Christmas with her and her single dad. What starts off as innocently watching a Christmas movie on the couch after her student is asleep turns into something much more.

Joe Powell is the single father of one of her students, he's not looking for love, but when his daughter invites the teacher who lives two doors down to come over for the holidays, who is he to say no and leave her lonely? After she falls asleep on his couch watching a Christmas movie, he invites her to stay so neither one of them has to go to bed lonely.

I wasn’t expecting this at all when I started, but I was excited because I loved the narrator from the previous book.

What begins as a neighbor helping out turns into so much more. I love single dad romances because it’s not something we talk about enough. Being a single parent is hard, no matter what, and as someone whose best friend is a single dad, I really appreciated the representation.

Watching the MMC navigate love while making sure his daughter was always comfortable felt real. I loved how he slowly introduced PDA and conversations about dating so she never felt pushed aside. The flirty, slightly cringe moments between Brittany and Joe felt realistic, especially around a child. Nothing felt forced, and they actually communicated instead of assuming.

I also loved the relationship they both had with Elena and that Joe never let her feel his stress. Overall, a solid, quick read and listen that made my morning commute better.

I love this story. I feel like there can be so much added on to this. It's a good start. This book is a part of a series. I don't know much about the other books, but I did love this one.

Shifting Hearts by Christina Mattingly is an excellent Christmas shifter romance. Anthony did an incredible job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, enjoyable, steamy, hot, spicy, and more.

This is a really good audiobook. I really enjoyed the narration. The characters are really quite sweet and charming and it short sweet and two the point.
