I have read or listened to many series and hundreds of books. I have favorites but it is difficult to believe there can be a better series of stories, or better character development ir world building than the Elder Books. In Shadows End the reader is again taken to a world of tenderness, violence, love, learning, and change in a roller coaster of emotion that can hurt your insides by the continuous interchange of laughter and crying. I don’t see how you can listen to more than two chapters of this book, and not embark on a goal to listen to any of the tens of other books from this world. Each book is Stand-Alone but each book has some returning characters that you learn about and unexpectedly adopt as your family.

More emotional than the previous stories, but Excellent

Another very good story by Ms Harrison this one is about Graydon/Beluviel . It has drama and action and a love so strong and a villain everyone want to see destroyed it bring quite a few fraction together in hope of success. Liam will surprise Drago with a request. SO GOOD!!!!

Sophie Eastlake aka Julia Whelan is brilliant as always. The story though didn't get going until chapter 10. You need the backstory to appreciate everything that came after but it took a while to get there. IMHO, Bell should've let Fairien drown in the mess he made and she was stupid for always cleaning up his mess. He was a grown man and she still treated him like he was 15 years old. His father's attitude was damaging but so was her constant coddling. Everyone made choices and he kept having her and whomever she dragged into it bail him out of the stupid choices he made and in the end he didn't have to pay for anything. He got to be king and lost nothing. What a gutless wonder!

The end with Grey and Bell pissed me off. Con is gone and all they are thinking about is going at it even in the hospital, REALLY! He gave his life and all you want to do is climb all over each other. Nice to know he meant that much too you.

It was extremely sad to lose a member of the inner circle and a 1st gen elder but Malpheses (sp?) had to die. Interesting to see where Liam's story goes after this. One year is not a long time to grow-up even for him. It was also nice to see all the couples come together to fight as one. Like I said before the novellas/short stories have some of the players and information that is not present in the regular novels so read the novellas/short stories.

As always it was a good listen.
