My name is Amin. I drive a cab. I do not mean that I drive a real cab, mind you. No, I used to do that. Nowadays, my friend, I drive one of those dial-up by Internet cheapies. I sleep in my car most nights because I am prepared to drive all day and all night. In this world, a real man must be ready to make money. I’m an honest driver. I’m as honest as they come. Yet, you can honestly say that I take people for a ride for a living. As they ride, they talk. Oh, how they talk to me. Perhaps it is my honest face that loosens their lips. I am like your local priest because I hear all their dirty confessions. I learn their deepest desires. I know their secret sins. I guess, though, I don’t mind hearing their sordid stories all that much. After all, their stories help pass the time of day.
Today I heard a saucy story from Jerry. He’s a financial analyst. I stress the anal part of that word because that’s what part of Jerry his boss valued most. He offered Jerry a new position on his staff. There’s one catch to Jerry getting his promotion. It involved Jerry and a certain little black dress. I won’t say more as I would never gossip. Well, perhaps I will say a touch more in private.
Oh, and then there is Chet. He’s a salesclerk. He’s been put in the ladies' department for the day by his supervisor. You don’t want to hear what Chet will do to obtain his commission from selling a mink coat. I promised him that I wouldn’t tell. Let’s just say that he called it love. Love, it is a funny thing, my friends. It also turns out to be a very sexy thing as well when this love found poor Chet while wearing that dress.
All I can say is this: tell all your lovely stories to Amin, my friends, because Amin never retells them. He swears to that fact.
