Publisher's summary

A hot firefighter who just wants to take care of her and her little boy? Sign her up.

Moving in with him and his little girl who already has a huge chunk of her heart? Very nice.

Roommates with benefits? Yes, please.

Convincing this take-charge alpha to let her take care of him too? That’s not going to be as easy.

Steamy Friends to Lovers story

This was my favorite book in the Boys of the Big Easy series. This is a steamy friends to lovers story, which is my favorite troupe. This one is by far the most spicy of the Boys of the Big Easy series, which is fitting for a couple that live in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Lexi is a single mother of a sweet little boy, Jack. Caleb inherited his sister's daughter (Sophie) after his sister and her husband died in a car crash. Lexi and Caleb are part of the single parents support group. They also rely on each other for child care. Lexi finds herself without a place to live. Caleb is a fireman and a fixer, so he takes Lexi and Jack in to live with him and Sophie. Lexi has been interest in a relationship with Caleb for awhile. But he thinks she is too young for him. She is concerned that he can't give her what she needs physically.

Great side story of Sophie's developmental issues due to injury from the car crash and how Caleb, Lexi and even Jack react to it.

I loved watching them go from friends to more with all the steam and a little kink.

Great narration by Ryan West.

Enjoyable listen

Caleb, a single “dad” who is raising his niece, and Lexi met at a single parent support group and have essentially co-parenting. Caleb is a fixer and used to being in control and making sure his girls are happy. Lexi has wanted Caleb but has always though he looked at her like a sister. This was a great book as we get to see their relationship evolve from just taking care of the kids, to a hot and steamy relationship and seeing if they can become equal partners . I also enjoyed seeing some of the Landry’s (from the Boys of the Bayou series)

Finally Caleb and Lexi

Caleb and Lexi have been "dancing" around each other for a couple of years after meeting in the Single Parents Club. They took care of each other's kids but never at the same time. Caleb is a "fixer" and decides that Lexi and her son, Jack, shouldn't be living above the bar. He has them move in and things start getting interesting. Caleb and Lexi begin to see that their attraction to each other isn't one-sided. Caleb has to learn to trust Lexi with more than just babysitting Shay when he learns that she has brain trauma from the accident that killed her parents. Lexi has to learn that she's more than capable of doing things on her own and still be able to keep Caleb in her life. The whole group of friends are amazing in their caring of each other. There are some laugh out loud moments and some sexy times, too. I loved how this story ends and hopefully there will be more in this series done in audio. I really love Ryan West's drawl and his narration.

Favorite!!

Let me start by saying I love this book. I’ve read it several times in the last year. Lexi and Caleb are my go-to couple in the Boys of the Big Easy series. I love their dynamic and understanding as they come together in their co-parenting, friendship, and relationship. With that said, I love the added layer of emotion and depth Ryan West adds in narrating the story. The accents come to life - it makes the story and the steamy scenes even better. Highly recommend!! 11/10.

Loved Caleb

Loved this story and the off the chart Alpha, Caleb but Lexi wasn’t a push over either.
The narration brought the characters to life in ways that the words on the page never could.
Loved the story of single parents finding each other and their happy ever after, through a network

Fun and Unique Story

This book was a bit darker (but not “dark romance”) than the others in the series. These two are completely opposites in personality but not in desire to be together and they had to work through that. They also each had a child that came into their life unexpectedly (hers through unplanned pregnancy and his through the death of a sibling)

So they had some extra struggles to wade through on their path to love and that was nice.

Their sexy times were amazing and unique to them which was fun.

The end felt a shade rushed though. They went from content in a new relationship to getting married six moths later. I don’t know how much more of their romance needed to be told though so that’s hard.

Ryan West —dude you are amazing with the female voice and the drawl and the levels of drawl. Sigh.... lol

What they need

I loved this story from Erin Nicholas! Caleb and Lexi are co parenting. They take care of each other’s kids when they are working but Caleb doesn’t see Lexi the way she see him. Until the day someone else sees Lexi. I love how they discover that they both need each other in many different ways. Caleb is definitely an alpha who “needs” no help from anyone but when his niece(who is his daughter now) needs more than what Caleb can provide, Lexi is his saving Grace. But that’s not to say she’s only needed for that. Caleb needs her to complete him and visa versa.

Life is always a work in progress

Firefighter Caleb, has a sort of co-parenting arrangement with nurse Lexie. They share childcare for his 4yo niece and her 2yo son...the arrangement works with their shift schedules. When Lexie and Jack need a place to stay, Caleb suggests that they move in with him and Shay. Can Caleb and Lexie fight their mutual attraction and still continue with their old arrangement?
