Great Read

Nate: Brothers in Blue Series, Book 2 was a great read by Simone Carter. Sophie is being stalked but she doesn’t know who it is or why they are stalking her. Nate is a police officer who Sophie is falling for. Nate gets shot and now Sophie doesn’t know if she should leave him or stay. I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read more by Simone Carter.

Sophie and Nate

NATE is the second book in the Brothers in Blue series, and having so enjoyed Nick I was looking forward to listening to this one. It is a story which can stand alone but I think it's better to listen to them in order because Sophie and Nate met during the first book and it's always good to have some background information.

This is a fast-paced, action-packed, suspense romance with really likable characters in Nate and Sophie. The story features a stalker whose identity was obvious from the start but Sophie herself never mentioned him to the police, why not I asked myself? The romance aspect of the story was good but how Sophie went from being an unemployed art teacher to shop owner with an assistant in a few short weeks was unrealistic I thought, even with the help given her by Nate.

Lissa Blackwell did a good job with the narration of the book, I found her voice easy to listen to.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

A 5 star story

This is a short audio novella. This story has many levels, it’s a suspense, a mystery but more important it’s a lov story
Hero is Nate Heroine is Sophie .
Nate and Sophie are connected by family but not the way you think . Sophie doesn’t think she’s entitled to happiness. She’s a foster child that a family finally took her in . Nate and his family are the ones that takes her in , Nate on top of it is a cop.
Slowly Sophie realizes tha there is stalker after her .
The situation gets real serious when Nate gets shot . Was it the stocker that shot Nate . Will the stocker get to Sophie.

Lisa Blackwell was fantastic telling us this story . Her voice is strong , clear and steady

A quick story with a excellent love story and a touch drama and suspense. I enjoyed the characters. The hints about who was doing the stalking were pretty evident so there was no surprise there. The characterization was on point and were easily relatable. They seem like people I would want to hang out with.

Lissa Blackwell did a good job on the voices but the narration was very monotone. Since there was a good deal of that it got to be somewhat dry overall.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.

A GREAT LISTEN

NATE is the second book in the Brothers in Blue series. While this stands completely on its own, it is better to read them all and in the order of release.

This is a terrific, fast-paced, action-packed, suspense romance! Though the stalker’s identity was too obvious (no red herrings to keep you guessing) and the economic status of the heroine (from unemployed art teacher to shop owner with an assistant in a few weeks), I still enjoyed the story. I recommend suspending a little reality and experience the romance and suspense.

I would love to read (listen to) more of this series. There is one more brother…. and two more sisters in the Baker family.

Narration: The narrator, Lissa Blackwell, has a sweet melodic voice. She does an admirable job of giving the different characters different voices, though I did wonder why Sophie had a southern twang to her voice when she was a “true Chicagoan.”
The production quality needs work. Bathrooms have wonderful acoustics – for singers working on practicing their projection. As audiobook studios, they are echo chambers.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Another Great Brothers in Blue Book!!

Just as I enjoyed book 1, Nick, I really enjoyed this one too! You don't have to read/listen to the first one but you'll want to. This series is full of steam and suspense and after hearing two of them, I'm looking forward to the next one. I have and will continue to recommend this series to my friends. The narration is better with this book than book one but now she, Lissa Blackwell, sounds like she's in a cavernous room while reading. I do enjoy her various voices for the characters and overall she does add to the experience. I believe this book, this series, is worth your time. It's a great listen and I look forward to the next installment.

Brothers in Blue 2

Nate by Sinone Carter is the second book in this series and a standalone listen. I loved how the author meshed romance with suspense in this book and took stalking to a new level. The characters in this story were well developed quickly. Nate is a wonderful protector and has his eyes on Sophie. I loved the cameo appearances by his family members that were introduced in the book Nick. Lisa Blackwell performed this book wonderfully. She added to the suspense with the stalker, and had distinguishable voices for various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Dreams come true

Well written, no repeats from the first book. l often worry about that when authors write series.
Narrator is good clear pronunciation. some echo in the sound or hollow sound sometimes.
The characters are well created and could live next to you.
Overall a good book with sweet happy ending.
