LAST CALL: Book Five of The Velvet Room Series

The club kept one rule above all others: what's shared in the room is never a weapon. Now someone's breaking it — and he has years of leverage on all of them.

Elodie, Adam, Lena, Viktor, and Dmitri thought the hardest secrets were already behind them. Then the calls start — each one aimed at a different vulnerability, each one signed with the same quiet threat: expose yourselves, or Julian Cross will do it for you. Lena knows exactly who he is. She removed him from the club herself, years before any of the others arrived — and she's spent just as long making sure no one ever asked why. Now his case against her, against all of them, is finally coming due, and the price of silence has come to collect. As Julian closes in with a story he's had years to perfect, the five of them face a question none of them expected to ask together: is the club even worth saving in its current form — or is it time to become something Julian can't hold over anyone again?

One last confrontation. One last chance to decide, on their own terms, what the room was always really for. The final chapter of The Velvet Room Series — where every secret finally comes due.

For mature audiences only.

I accepted this listen without knowing the title, length, or position in the series. So, this review is strictly limited to this last chapter-sized book in the series without knowing how the characters got to where they are, their motivations, or their previous romantic interests. The narration, character dialogue, and explicit scenes all felt a bit unrefined. Perhaps it's a diamond in the rough for those catching the setup from the earlier books. Not much else to say or my review will be longer than the story. [Disclosure: I received this title for free and listened at 2.0x.]

That'll teach me to start at the end
