This was a dark, hot, smexy book. Sebastian was a possessive, sexy man who practically took over Hayli's life. He wanted her to depend on him. He had someone (he knew the person) attack her so he could play her savior hoping she would be indebted to him. It did not quite work out that way. Hayli was stronger than she seemed. This was a good book that I enjoyed. Jack Calihan did a great job with the narration, both male and female voices.

This book was dark, spicy, and addictive. Sebastian came across as a controlling, possessive man who wanted Hayli tied to him in every way. He even set her up to be rescued by him, hoping it would bind her closer, but Hayli turned out to be stronger than expected. Her innocence drew me in at first, but the way things shifted kept me on edge. The tension, heat, and shocking twist at the end made it a story worth finishing. The narration by Jack Calihan fit perfectly, bringing both voices to life.

Jack Calihan narration of this mafia story is very good. A mafia story well p!ayed out. Mind games, sexy times and an unexpected ending.

From the start I knew I was going to enjoy this book. and it goes in stages and there's a lot of twist and turns but both parties actually have their own issues.
I do recommend this book and it promises not to disappoint.

The perfect mix of alpha male and spunky female, Jesse Fox creates a world that sucked me in and had me captivated. Hayli and Sebastian's families have been at odds for years. But that didn't stop the young girl from crushing on the older boy. Now grown, Sebastian is ready to take revenge for his family and using Hayli would be the sweetest take. But will she be that easy to take? This love story is filled with alpha male and innocent girl vibes, that feeling of finding the vengeance and living the best life. And then the twists and turns begin. Fox has given me a story to sink my teeth into as well as fall in love. It is dark and delicious and filled with intrigue. Sebastian is controlling but his feelings are true. Hayli has an innocence about her that makes her feel young but is quite mature and cunning. It's the perfect mix for this couple, keeping each other on their toes. It's fabulous!

Jack Calihan narrates this gem with the voices I love. His talent lets him read both male and female characters with voices that are realistic and fit them perfectly. His growlie darkness shines with Sebastian and then he brings that sweetness out for Hayli! I loved his story telling and enjoyed this listen.

1. I admire the narrator. 2. The author's research on the location is impressive. I've lived in Boise and the Treasure Valley area my entire life, and my mother's family resides in Oregon. 3. The MMC/FMC features an age gap, enemy-to-lovers trope, spicy content, and an alpha male. I appreciated that the book combined all three stories. It's undoubtedly a dark romance, far from a vanilla romance. Sebastian, the MMC, is a compelling alpha male driven by a desire for revenge against Hayle's father. A surprising plot twist unfolds in book three.

This book had me going back and forth with my feelings the whole time. At first I thought I had the story figured out but then it flipped on me more than once. Some parts were rough to listen to, but that’s what made it feel real. I actually caught myself pausing to think about what I’d do in Hayli’s place. Not perfect, but that’s what kept it interesting for me.

I went into this collection expecting a casual listen, but it quickly became one of those audiobooks I kept reaching for in every spare moment. Each story has its own bite, mixing tension, heat, and emotion in a way that felt fresh and unapologetic. What stood out most to me was Jack Calihan’s narration he gave the characters a rawness that made them feel alive. It’s daring, addictive, and way more fun than I anticipated.

Hayli pulled me in from the start. She’s young, naive, and sweet, and it was so easy to feel her push and pull when Sebastian came into the picture. The way she wanted him and resisted at the same time made the tension even hotter. Some scenes were downright steamy but the story also kept me guessing. I honestly didn’t see that twist at the end coming. Between the passion, the secrets, and the suspense, this book was pure perfection.
