I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and I am so pleased with my first Tessa Teevan experience. The characters where likeable, the story was heartwarming, and the pacing felt appropriate. The man in military uniform was an added bonus that definitely tugged on my heart. Soldiers coming home from war is sure way to get my tearducts active!

The story is told in dual POV which further increased my enjoyment as I love getting inside the thoughts of both characters. I listened to this via audible and think the narrators did a great job with Alexa and Jase. Though this is a standalone, I am already looking into the next book in the series. (Fingers crossed it will be Knox's story.)

I love beautiful second chances. Alexa and Jace were connected soul deep in High School. Jace leaves for the Army and Alexa prays he comes for her. Alexa moves to another state and is heartbroken Jace never came for her. Time goes on and Alexa(Lexi) moves on. She marries Ty and has a beautiful life, until he dies in a car crash. Jace is busy with his life in the Army, this is career. Jace never got over Alexa, she is ingrained into his soul. Now it is time for his 10 class reunion and one melding friend is about to change the fate of Alexa and Jace.. What is beautiful is these two felt warmth as they re-connected at the reunion. For them it was like time hadn't passed, that is why I love second chances
