Flexible Hours, Plenty of Time for Homework
This is one of the best sex work memoirs I've read. I couldn't stop listening.
From a working-class childhood, Shawna made her way into college supporting herself with odd jobs. She answered an ad for a dominatrix, and ended up with a lot to learn in a short period of time. She tells you all about being in power at such a young age, and bending the rules to fit her needs and capabilities.
Shawna's voice is distinct: humorous and true. She tells her story like she's sitting right next to you.

Domination made endearing
What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?
The narrator was fantastic. She let the story tell itself without interfering with the plot. I could actually hear the author through her narration, and that's normally what I look for in audiobooks.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
The tampon tea stirrers, among a few other grotesque things. This is one of very few books I had to put down because I was actually nauseous.
Any additional comments?
Despite some occasional nausea, this was actually a great book and a fantastically interesting story. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who's not super squeamish and is comfortable with reading about alternative lifestyles.

Not as bad as it might sound.
What was one of the most memorable moments of I Was a Teenage Dominatrix?
Well… the scat scene was gross but told in a funny way.
What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She performed the characters very well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I came away amused,if not shocked at what some people like to do for "fun".
Any additional comments?
Overall, the story was detailed and entertaining. It would've been nice to hear more of her life outside of work, but that's just my opinion. I'd read this again. Don't listen while eating.

Realistic!
What did you love best about I Was a Teenage Dominatrix?
It read like a true story from someone who had really done it all, and not become sucked into the crappy side of that world.

Super entertaining!
Very well written and quite funny! You fall in love with this 20-something managing her double life like a boss while making her way through college!

Really awesome book!!
I loved this book!! the woman narrating it was a little fast but it was an easy fix.
Reading this you'll definitely have a lot of laughs and gasps and "whaaat??"s
