Misha had somehow landed herself a job as a barista at one of the very first coffee shops to officially reopen in the city after an alien race known as Debir overtook the earth. Work is good, business is picking up, and things are feeling almost normal again until one of those aliens walks in and her world turns upside down.

Seeing a Debir in the flesh was nothing like she had imagined it would be, and the minutes-long encounter leaves her with memories of ember colored eyes and a rumbling baritone that wouldn't let go.

Accepting that it was simply a chance encounter, Misha is then shocked to find an invitation to participate in an exclusive "Human/Debir Initiative".

Taking part in it would mean a better life, one she couldn't even imagine, but the more she reads about it the more shocked she becomes...

To be used simply to breed...and with eggs? Misha should have immediately tossed the invitation in the trash, and she would have had it not been for thoughts of those ember eyes and deep voice.

Surprisingly sexy short if you’re into aliens. Light on plot but edited well enough to enjoy. I’ve listened to this book at least 20x
I first found this author in Kindle and enjoyed the book enough that I went back to purchase more. Then two audiobooks.
Jones was a good choice as narrator and does a good job.

I liked the overall straightforwardness of this story. I wish it were a little more descriptive, and a little more "lewd." But, it was good for the masses, and nice to listen to! I hoped it were longer too.

This short story was good. I would have preferred it to be a little deeper, maybe a bit more emotive.
The narrator was alright. She sounded on the edge of laughter throughout, and her expression of the sex scene was lacking.

This was a fast paced erotic alien story. Still not real sure about the tentacles or a human laying eggs but enjoyed the story.

So this is not going to be a book about epic romance. It is about two people who get together out of necessity. Debir wants to have kids and Misha wants to get out of poverty. After the invasion Misha has been living in a halfway house of a sorts. She just recently got a job and that is where she meets Debir. We do not really get much detail on the two just the basics. The ending was not fulfilling. I want to know what happens after the eggs are delivered. Lily Anton just left us wondering what now.

But what happens next?
