really enjoyed this story. especially Jonathan. it picked up for me toward the end. overall, Safluer's writing is superb. my first by this author.

I listened to this book on Audible and it was a great pleasure because the narrator was wonderful and she had a great book to work with. I enjoyed this novel very much because I love a story that introduces you to the hero and heroine at the same time they are experiencing those first impressions that morph into attraction, chemistry, resistance, capitulation and the growth of their characters. That happened here. Jonathan and Christiana fall in love against the odds. He’s on a different social scale - a wealthy Congressman; and she’s a college student home for the summer break, struggling financially, and the daughter of an alcoholic journalist. Despite their social difference, Christiana and Jonathan find each other refreshing. Washington’s political, fundraising and social elite interfere by playing selfish adult mind games to achieve hidden agendas; and a dark, looming danger threatens to come between them. All the machinations and manipulations tangling around Jonathan and Christiana should not matter since they are only going to be together for Christiana’s college summer break, right? The drama all plays out well and I was hooked.

If you are into dominance and submission-based steamy scenes, you should be satisfied here – it is consensual and not abusive. And the steamy scenes here are scorching as they are accompanied by the couple’s obvious delight in each other. The steam is not gratuitous but has a purpose - it actually moves the story along. Sexually jaded Jonathan “trains” young, inexperienced Christiana, but unknowingly, and to his surprise, she teaches him about loving and honesty. Loved it.

I found the Audible experience here superb. I could not bring myself to pause the play button.

I just discovered author Elizabeth SaFleur and narrator Anastasia Watley - what excellent writing and totally engaging performance!
I am so disappointed that none of this author’s other books i can find are available as audiobooks.
The description of BDSM practices and the community standards is so well presented - if you think this level of darkness is not for you, this series will change your mind
The character development in each book totally reeled me in - each person has an intriguing story and clearly presented motivation.

I think Elite and Untouchable were my favorites - I loved the evolution of the relationships between Christianne and Jonathan, and then Carson and London. Again in the last book, Lucky, Samantha and Derrick had a very compelling emotional journey. The 3rd book has Marco and Ella and I liked them but did not find their story to draw me in as much. Still good, though, as a solid romance novel

These books are worth audible credits and to my joy - there are no cliffhangers!
Please bring more Audio books Elizabeth!
