My story started out with a guy who liked a girl. She looked like an angel to him. I was the guy, Ava the angel. But...my life turned into this world where I got married to her twin sister and Ava hated me. Then, I got caught in a game with the devil I didn't want to play. My enemies used my weaknesses against me, and killed my wife. Ava could have died, too, so I stayed away.

The universe, however, had other ideas and threw her right back in my path.

An angel like her didn't belong in the dark world of a Mafia boss.

Ten years ago, when I first met Claudius, I knew he was trouble. He'd made me love's fool and broke my heart in so many ways when he married my sister. So, what was I doing running back into the arms of a man I shouldn't be with?

Coincidence reunited us, but my heart did the rest. My heart stifled the voice inside that told me to run away. My heart made me selfish...I wanted him for myself.

I knew I shouldn't be with him, but I couldn't leave him alone. That very thing could be my downfall.

Beware: the plot of the story is exposed here. The power that Marissa had in the lives of so many (alive and dead) made me sick; she had no redeeming quality, and while the author was probably trying to humanize the “mob boss” with facial tattoos, it only made him look like more of an asshole. I’m supposed to believe that he was going to stay with a conniving sister and not the twin he loved when the sole purpose of their union was gone? Claudius tried to act like a tough motorcycle guy, but the truth was, he lacked self awareness. IMO - the only one I felt sorry for was Ava; For both sticking by her sister and forgiving Claudius.

This was a good listen. It was written well but it felt like something was missing throughout the story.💞 MMC & MFC were ok but the MFC felt as if, she was always throwing tantrum... Silly.They did give off plenty of Heat!🔥Narrators were good as well as supporting characters.

Nice story but a bit on the tame side for drama and sex for a mafia story. I still recommend if you're not into dom and sub type mafia stories.

I absolutely loved this story. I love the flashbacks. I loved and hated each character that was to be loved or hated. I only wish Ava would’ve been able to properly confront Marissa. I should be satisfied that she is dead. But I wanted more.
