Publisher's summary

Claudius

My story started out with a guy who liked a girl. She looked like an angel to him. I was the guy, Ava the angel. But...my life turned into this world where I got married to her twin sister and Ava hated me. Then, I got caught in a game with the devil I didn't want to play. My enemies used my weaknesses against me, and killed my wife. Ava could have died, too, so I stayed away.

The universe, however, had other ideas and threw her right back in my path.

An angel like her didn't belong in the dark world of a Mafia boss.

I know that, except, I'm selfish. I should leave her alone, but I can't.

Ava

Ten years ago, when I first met Claudius, I knew he was trouble. He'd made me love's fool and broke my heart in so many ways when he married my sister. So, what was I doing running back into the arms of a man I shouldn't be with?

Coincidence reunited us, but my heart did the rest. My heart stifled the voice inside that told me to run away. My heart made me selfish...I wanted him for myself.

I knew I shouldn't be with him, but I couldn't leave him alone. That very thing could be my downfall.

Contains mature themes.

Marissa made me so mad

Beware: the plot of the story is exposed here. The power that Marissa had in the lives of so many (alive and dead) made me sick; she had no redeeming quality, and while the author was probably trying to humanize the “mob boss” with facial tattoos, it only made him look like more of an asshole. I’m supposed to believe that he was going to stay with a conniving sister and not the twin he loved when the sole purpose of their union was gone? Claudius tried to act like a tough motorcycle guy, but the truth was, he lacked self awareness. IMO - the only one I felt sorry for was Ava; For both sticking by her sister and forgiving Claudius.

FIVE STARS X 2

I absolutely loved this story. I love the flashbacks. I loved and hated each character that was to be loved or hated. I only wish Ava would’ve been able to properly confront Marissa. I should be satisfied that she is dead. But I wanted more.

Infuriating!!😡

The story was good but I had a few issues
The betrayal between the sisters. The silence of the parents when Marisa got with Claudius. The fact that Claudius didn’t step up and tell Ava what was going on.
I had a hard time with Ava having to be the bigger person. I hated most when Claudius talked about loving Marisa 🤬

Mild mafia story.

Nice story but a bit on the tame side for drama and sex for a mafia story. I still recommend if you're not into dom and sub type mafia stories.

Claudius and Ava

An adrenaline-charged, twisted and darkly suspenseful romance. Claudius and Ava embark on a road filled with secrets, betrayal and so many twist and turns that you feel like the insanity will never end. I enjoyed every single second of this story.

BOO HOO.. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT

I love a good Mafia romance.. with their dark alpha possessive Boss’ and the intense chemistry that flows when he meets ‘the one’.. but sorry this was more ‘meh’ eye-roll than the dark gritty listen I was hoping for. There’s a gangster who falls in love with a good twin, takes her v card when she’s 21 and dates her for a year and a half.. but, when she leaves to further her dreams of becoming a chef abroad for a year, her nasty twin sneakily tricks him into sleeping with her.. and gets pregnant. Well, instead of saying he’d do right by the baby but not her, he actually marries her and, (spoiler.. even though they lose the baby), he continues to play happy families!! and the innocent good twin even has to go to their wedding. Fast forward a couple of years and shit happens, an enemy strikes and devastation hits.. fast forward years again and the good twin comes back on the scene. But the hero keeps pushing her away because he’s always in danger and doesn’t want her to get hurt. It’s ten years in the making.. and now there’s a push ‘n pull on-off-on again relationship for a little while. Until an enemy from the past comes back and a traitor causes havoc.

Unfortunately, I really didn’t feel ANY chemistry between the hero and heroine.. no sizzles and no heat.. the heroine was weak weak weak.. and it didn’t sit comfortably with me that the hero not only married the manipulative twin, he would’ve still been married to her if she hadn’t of died.. despite being in love and soul-mates with the good twin. I didn’t get the ‘bad boy’ vibe from him either. It’s told in dual POV past/present chapters which I x 2 the speed to eventually get to the HEA end. Robyn’s narration was in whispers almost and I didn’t think Noah’s voice was sexy at all.

Worth a credit? For me no.. and I really really tried.. but (shrug) maybe it’s just me.

So so Story.

Dragged out. Had some interesting moments but…..in the end was average. The male voices sounded way older than the characters they portrayed. The woman sounded pathetic and at times stupid.
