Yuki Tanaka is done playing it safe. A young reporter fed up with fluff pieces, she finally lands a real assignment: go undercover and expose the elusive Akira Sato, a powerful underworld figure feared across Tokyo. But the moment Yuki lays eyes on Akira’s file, something shifts. A strange, magnetic pull begins—one she can’t explain and dares not trust.

To infiltrate Akira’s world, Yuki takes a job at a glamorous nightclub she’s known to frequent. Her charm and wit earn her a coveted role as Akira’s personal server. When a tense night forces a direct meeting, Akira—intrigued by Yuki’s poise under pressure—offers her a promotion: personal assistant.

With her handler’s blessing, Yuki dives deeper, determined to gather intel. But what begins as a mission turns murky fast. Every encounter with Akira sparks undeniable tension. What should be calculated manipulation becomes dangerously real. When a private lunch shifts into something more intimate, Yuki finds herself caught between duty and desire. One night of passion threatens to unravel everything.

This story was a little on the hard side to finish. There was little character building and a lot of repetitive descriptions. The one nice part of the book was the spice! There was plenty of spice and it was well written. The narration did not fit the storyline. No accents to speak of and made the characters sound like little kids.
