Captivating

After the initial interest and peculiarity of chapter one, the story becomes progressively more bland. I'm not certain how one can make a car accident fetishist boring, but here we are. For a better grotesque read, try Geek Love.

A great book for the considered reader.

I have read almost all of J.G.Ballard's books. including the 60rhs of collected works.
I saved this for last and I am so thankful. if it was first it would have turned me off to the great books ahead.

I like this guy. My favorite is "concrete island". so don't think this is a bad revue.

The story is graphic descriptive sex and car crash in slow motion.
I can understand the book from a perspective of his other work and reading about him.
it is not a book for the casual listener. its also not porn directly.
Ballard is getting close to touching what his books seem to long for.
psychological freedom to do what one wants with no restraint.

not just a shock book although it is rather shocking and unrelenting. not for the squeamish or faint of heart. however it can be dissected and examined through the lens of extreme fetishes and their consequences.

If you are interested in postmodern theory fiction and the work of philosopher Jean Baudrillard then I would highly recommend this book. But I should warn you this book is weird and gross and sexual. This book is not for everyone.

Good book but also smut

This goes on the list of hard to read/listen books. It goes into vivid detail about a man's sexual acts and the brutally of car crashes. Maybe it's because I'm a women I found it hard to relate to?

Out of Comfort Zone
