Publisher's summary

She is the everyday girl next-door.

He is shadowed by regret laced in broken memories.

Dark sins of the past have a way of taking hold of your heart and never letting go.

Paisley Asher is the average woman trying to get by in life. Happy and safe in her bubble of ease, she is not prepared to take on the black pit that is one man's heart.

Trevor "Coal" Blake has a past covered in black. Tainted. He is a dark soul.

In the moment, it is easy to lose sight of what is going on. Looking back, however, little cues were misread...or were they? He lives with more questions than answers.

Chance encounters bring these two together. Is she the angel to pull him from the depths of his personal hell, or is he destined to remain alone and as black as coal?

Contains mature themes.

Thrilling

The whole series was thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat. Some was really heart-stopping and yet I loved the connection between all the characters. Hate to come to the end.

Flakiness of the female main character

Kind of slow moving with an array of emotions confusing the FMC. In high school the MMC had consensual, sex with his girlfriend and later she lied and accused him of rape then lost the baby. This was a life altering event for the MMC and that paved his future. He would only seek out the services of hookers. FMC didn’t have much depth and she was a flake. The club new case was too track and eliminate a serial killer. There was some explicit gore scenes, no angst or cheating. The ending of this book so neatly wrapped up Ice, Hammer and Coal futures. Wonderful!
Dual narration is the best.

Coal and Paisely

Coal is dark, broody, burdened by the world. Paisley is a ball of sunshine, quirky, and full of life. She literally bumps into Coal and his works is rocked. Coal starts to see things differently. They both find something in each other they did not know they were looking for. This was a rocky, bumpy, exhilarating ride to go on with Coal and Paisley. The ending was beautiful seeing hard men like Ice, Hammer, and Coal reach their happily ever after. I absolutely loved this series.

Good story

Great narrators. The female is a vegan, so if this is your thing and you like bike club stories, then you will love this. I think the whole thing was well done, but I didn’t like it as much as the other stories. I have gone back to listen to the hellion stories.

Lame

Honestly this was lame. The heroine was just crazy and the story line of the serial killer would have been great if they didn’t go avenger and found justice for all the people that died. Instead no one will know he no longer exist. It was a messy story like that could have been better. Disappointing

A Vegan Flake Meets Man Messed Up Over Sex Cliche

I tried to persevere with this book but it was just downright bad. The whole premise of Paisley wanting to "make things right" with Coal to align her chakras or whatever the hell was downright ridiculous. She bumped his bike with her car, didn't hurt him or cause damage. I just wanted to swat her like an annoying fly and tell her to f*ck off already. I can't imagine a guy being impressed with her over-the-top nonsense, especially when she starts following him.

I lost patience with this book when it turned into long chapters about Paisley's vegan lifestyle, her need to align her planets and clear her chakras. Just get the hell out of here. Coal wasn't a catch in my opinion either, he seemed one dimensional and not interesting at all.

I will be asking form my credit back.

🌻Yeah, the Heroine was too “green” for me!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I was anxious for Coal to find some happy so I looked forward to this book. However, the Heroine was too weird to be believed. Vegan I get, caring about the environment, I get but, needing to balance your energy? I just don’t think that this type of woman would ever attract a hardcore biker or would be attracted to a biker. I’m sorry, it just came across as ridiculous.

With that being said, this book did have a horrific serial killer, that the Club had to hunt down. I’ve got to say that I usually do ok with this kind of story but, the descriptions of this killers crimes actually made me nauseas.

The end of this book does have a cameo of Ice and Hammer that includes the wrap up of their stories.

I did finish the book and just disregarded the Heroine’s craziness because I wanted to experience Coal’s HEA.
