The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans - and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous’s fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality. Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps - young Jedi whose abilities have not proved up to snuff - Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force talent: a gift with plants....
Would you be willing to try another one of John Glover’s performances?
Possibly, but I'd have to be hard up for anything else to listen to
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Extreme disappointment. Like, Prequel Trilogy level disappointment. Like, Han Solo remembering Luke and Leia kissing when he found out they were siblings level disappointment.
Any additional comments?
Just terrible. I listened to all (almost) 8 hours, continually telling myself "It'll get better. It HAS to get better". It didn't. From start to finish, it was a huge disappointment.
A story about force sensitive flowers, talking trees, and Sith zombies (calm down, it isn't as cool as it sounds). This book doesn't even feel like Star Wars. It uses familiar words like "Jedi", "Sith", and "Coruscant", but that's as Star Wars as it gets. The Sith aren't familiar in their actions like the other books, I've never heard of a Jedi botanist who talks to flowers all day, and the zombie angle was a huge confusing let down.
The narrator is so-so. At times he's right on with how I want him to read the book, other times he sounds like a constipated child who's trying to talk through a painful bowel movement.
