I’m still sitting here crying after the last chapter. I am so disappointed! How sad!

The book itself was amazing but why in the world did it have to take that dark turn!!! I won’t add detail as I don’t want to spoil it for others, but how depressing.

It’s Davis Way’s first slot-tournament season. And it may be her last. Things are dicey at work. A personal assistant goes missing, a little old lady goes on a suspicious winning streak, and a Bellissimo executive goes gaga for Davis. She follows a disappearing slot-tournament player trail to the So Help Me God Pentecostal Church in Beehive, Alabama, then jumps headlong into a high stakes holy scandal. She’s on a losing streak at home, too. Her days, nights, and dinners run together, as Davis juggles a revolving door of uninvited guests, namely her rotten ex-ex-husband, Eddie Crawford.

I’m so confused at the end? It felt like there were five stories going and in the end I’m totally confused who did what to who! I loved book one. Felt like it could be a series I would love but this book left me feeling so disappointed. I also think that Davis has a job where she lets people walk all over her despite that their Casino left her in jail and almost got her killed and yet her boss can’t say her name? Just frustrating because I really liked book one.

Thriller scribe Sophie Katz is as hard-boiled as a woman who drinks Grande Caramel Brownie Frappuccionos can be. So Sophie knows it's not paranoia, or post-divorce, living-alone-again jitters, when she becomes convinced that a crazed reader is sneaking into her apartment to reenact scenes from her books. The police, however, can't tell a good plot from an unmarked grave.

I found this book, as well as all of the other books in this series fun and exciting to listen to. The reader is amazing and does an incredible job. The characters are amazing and the attention to detail superior. The story line is fun and fast paced and once I start the book, finish the book in a day or two. Great books all the way around.
