Addicting series of suspense, thrills, horror and sadness. It will take you on a roller coaster ride. Buckle down you will need it.
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....
You know this could happen known what our government is doing as nothing surprises me with the Deep State is up to. Maybe not Zombies but death. Flu gets worse and worse every year. Be prepared not under prepared because one day wish you were. Being retired Military I know. Our Government has bunkers to sustain life if a major incident occurs.
No electricity. No running water. No food. No end in sight. If life as you knew it changed in an instant, would you be prepared? In A. American's first novel, Going Home, listeners were introduced to Morgan Carter, the resourceful, tough-as-nails survivalist who embarks on a treacherous 250-mile journey across Florida following the collapse of the nation's power grid. Now reunited with his loving wife and daughters in this follow-up to Going Home, Morgan knows that their happiness is fleeting, as the worst is yet to come.
Excellent series as who really knows but we know people they will kill for a can of cat food to survive. Can we really trust our government or people who all they want is power hum like Clinton. They will do anything to be a true dictator over the people and to control you. Why is the answer so this book highlights this. Just be ready for the unknown, we are.
Cassy has joined with Frank and his group, and the group members declare themselves a clan, pitting themselves as a group against the rising tide of darkness around them. Then the death of one of their own creates new tensions that may tear the clan apart before it ever reaches the promised oasis of Cassy's homestead farm. Worse, they are followed by a man bent on their destruction, who would take her farm for his own group if he can find it.
So far so good now this is a good book and if the shit hits the fan what side would you be on? When people get desperate they do anything so key is be prepared and find a good group of people that is for the good for all.
Onto book 3
If society collapsed, could you survive? When Morgan Carter's car breaks down 250 miles from his home, he figures his weekend plans are ruined. But things are about to get much, much worse: the country's power grid has collapsed. There is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored - if it ever will be.
Wonder how it would be if EMP would happen are you prepared you might think you are, but are you?
Good story of one men journey and the people he met along his journey home.
Get prepared do not trust the government in taken care of you.
Beth, forever fanning the flames of tension and dissension, has the Stryvers, the Progerians, and the entire human race on the brink of annihilation. It is up to Michael Talbot, BT, Drababan, and the United Earth Marine Corps to stave off this extinction event, along with General Ginson aboard the outgunned, outmanned, and nearly crippled USS Guardian. Is it too late, or can it all still be saved?
Would you listen to Victory's Defeat again? Why?
Great book and I have listen the book probably twice as going back making sure I did not miss anything. I wonder how long there luck will keep going as Mike pushes it to the limits. BT has faith in Mike as well D and Tracey. Beth well she is or wants to be the leader but I think her new spider friends will have her for dinner and she will be the main course as she thinks she will rule a new world. I see her death coming soon either by the spiders or Mike.
What other book might you compare Victory's Defeat to and why?
Nothing comes to mind as Marks books are one of a kind. Why compare.
Which character – as performed by Sean Runnette – was your favorite?
Hell all of them but Sean your voice changed a little bit. We a re huge fan of yours. Hope all is good for you.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes but cannot I have a life I like to listen to this vs. the crazy fake news.
Any additional comments?
Mark keep up the good work you have to fans in my household and I do not know why they do not make a TV series out of Fallout and Lycian. Be good for ten years of good content.
Picking up where The First Days ends, Fighting to Survive features the further zombie-killing, civilization-saving adventures of a pair of sexy, kick butt heroines and the men who love them. A hundred or so survivors of the zombie plague have found tenuous safety in the walled off center of a small Texas town. Now the hard work of survival begins - finding enough food; creating safe, weather-resistant shelter; establishing laws; and fighting off both the undead who want to eat them and the living bandits who want to rob and kill them.
Great book as this is book 2. Great story and the characters will have you biting your nails as the main characters Katie and Jenny survive through zombies and crazy hicks.
The morning that the world ends, Katie is getting ready for court and housewife Jenni is taking care of her family. Less than two hours later, they are fleeing for their lives from a zombie horde. Thrown together by circumstance, Jenni and Katie become a powerful zombie-killing partnership, mowing down zombies as they rescue Jenni's stepson, Jason, from an infected campground.
Very good plot involving two women from different backgrounds. Survival is a must or is it luck. Get the book!!!
Mike reunites with his wife and his friend, Paul, aboard the Guardian only to find that things have gone from bleak to hellish on earth. Rampaging hordes of Genogerians plague the planet, as does an invasion from Progerians hell-bent on knuckling under the will of man through their relentless assault. Yet this may not be the worst of it, as an insidious "ally" has lent their support. At what cost can a planet on the brink come back from such desperate odds?
Five stars as this book will have you cheering on Mike and his team, get angry at Paul and bitch Beth. Aliens will pick the Alligators as they need to make up their mind about their freedom. There are times your eyes will tear up as you with Mike and his team when one of them dies that is you have emotions, no worry if you are in you car I laugh. It is okay. Shows you are human as Mike would say.
After escaping from the Progerian Alien vessel, Michael Talbot is now given the opportunity to hide in obscurity with the rest of the human race or rise to the occasion and once again find himself immersed in a battle that he wants nothing to do with.Mike goes home and while reconnecting with a family that believed him dead he decides to join whatever resistance force can be mustered to repel the oncoming invasion.
Mark you done it again, great story and having us bite our nails. You need to make a series out of this books for TV.
