Is it possible someone she trusts might be lying? Tensions seethe inside the castle of lost time as Evie starts to doubt her own sanity. Answers can be found outside their stronghold, but will Death help her find them - or prevent her from learning the truth about her future and Jack's possible survival? A mysterious, sinister power begins to affect the Arcana in its path. Forced out into the wasteland alone, Evie must depend on unexpected allies. But as a battle with Richter looms, can her new alliance defeat the Dark Calling before hell reigns on earth?

*****Spoler Alert*****

I am so sick of this love triangle, just enough... I’m glad we got more cards introduced but I don’t feel like we really got a good backstory to them as we did in the other books for the other cards, this book felt a bit rushed for as long as it took to come out. The minor cards got introduced then they died. Then Evie just happens upon Jack on a motorcycle in the middle of nowhere??? Really!!!! This felt like an episode of The Walking Dead to me rather than a KC original. The only part I can say that I really liked was the surprise Paul factor. And now that Evie is pregnant, well she got shot in the stomach and she can regenerate but can her kid? It’s time to grow up and pick a man and do it for the kid, if she is still pregnant that is...
Emma Galvin, I adore you! I could listen to you all day!
Hope the next book is better than this one and is actually worth the wait.

Nate knelt beside the dead girl. This wasn't his first homicide, it wasn't even the first dead prostitute he'd investigated. It wasn't the first strangling death he'd been assigned to. But this one bothered him. Maybe it was her youth; she appeared to be in her early twenties. Maybe it was her looks, as death had yet to rob her of her beauty. Maybe she reminded him of his own daughter, Lizzie, who was only a few years younger. Maybe it was something else entirely.

I was enthralled with this book from the first few chapter. The characters were intriguing and the detective making a sort of blood bond with the woman’s he got called on to investigate is where I was really drawn in. The narrator was okay/good, could’ve been better. But I overall enjoyed the book. I would definitely read more from this author.

I received this book for free for an honest review.

Barely recovered from her brush with necromancy, Ivy is flung once more into a world of intrigue, adventure, and potential death and disaster. It's not her fault - it just so turns out that she's now the only person in the entire world who can communicate with the dead. And they're a chatty bunch with a list of demands.

When the ghosts offer information about a witch-hating mass murderer in return for Ivy's help, she has no choice but to get involved. She might be getting herself into more trouble than she realizes, though - and that's even before she's dragged to Sunday dinner so...

Ivy Wilde, the laziest witch in the West, is still entangled with the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment. That's not a bad thing, however, because it gives her plenty of excuses to spend more time with sapphire-eyed Raphael Winter, her supposed nemesis. And when he comes knocking because he needs her to spy on the latest series of Enchantment, she jumps at the chance. Hanging around a film set can't be hard - or dangerous - right?

New and interesting concept to the HMH books. This book focuses on Ben and Megan and also had our HMH favorites, Jane and Dick and everyone else. I liked this book a lot more than some of the others because of the new concept. Amanda Robconi did an amazing job as usual.

Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.

I love how Molly Harper has always made her lead females go from insecure to a strong independent woman. I love the use of witt and sarcasm and the twists and turns she puts in each of her books. This is a must have for any HMH fan. Also the shapeshifters that no one else would think of, a goat, a snake and something else is a Harper exclusive!
I think a perfect title for this book would be “Possum Kingdom” 🤣😂

I’m interested in Warrens backstory, forget Nathan’s! This was basically a filler book that showed us Nathan’s perspective on what we already know and basically how he met Shannon. Not saying it’s not worth the read but it could have had more to it than it did to make it more interesting.
