How can you not laugh at the dumb stuff we all did as children or watched the adults do around us as kids. Sherman Alexie takes his wry sense of humor to the max on this on this one. It has become a classroom classic and I hope that it gets added to the all-time white kid reading list next to Huckleberry Finn and To Kill a Mockingbird. Yeah, it's that good.

In keeping with his trademark style, Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code and Inferno, interweaves codes, science, religion, history, art, and architecture in this new novel. Origin thrusts Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon into the dangerous intersection of humankind's two most enduring questions - and the earthshaking discovery that will answer them.

It took me months to wade through this one. But I'm glad I did. It started out slower than his other novels. But the plot twists just keep coming. I kept waiting for the Hyper-religious Zealots to show up with warpaint as they do in Dan Brown novels. OMG, I don't want to spoil it for you. It's an AI thriller. At one point I thought here we go another "We're killing the planet" then a new alien species... I can't wait to read it again.

As a part-time PI and full-time grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister's hair before she wakes up? But "how do I trap not one malevolent god but three?" was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension. There's just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago.

It lacks Verisimilitude so far it's been a grave mistake I'm on chapter 5, and either i don't get the inside joke, or its just sloppy writing. I want to like this series. honestly I do. However I've learned from this down load, dont use your credits, you can't retun the book for a refund. I will finish the book and if i can warm up to it I'll post an apology.

Nope. made it to chapter 25 I just can't listen to this crap anymore. There are a few gaphic sex scenes in it .They are the best part of the story. I can't figure out if its a Supernatural TV rip off, or an actual diary of the author's daily battle with schizophrenia.

Dr. Alice Cameron is a famous scientist - an archeoastronomer - devoted to studying ancient Mayan culture. The era driving her career has always been the end of the Mayan baktun, so she's on the Yucatan Peninsula in December 2012 with her daughter Nixie...and so are fellow serious scholars, plenty of end-of-the-world crazies, and - at an international summit - the President of the United States and other heads of state.

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
