Once again Kathryn LeVeque has given us another exciting 5 star rated medieval romance that will melt your heart and seize your imagination. This book rapidly became one of my favorites with its well developed, complex characters and page turning plot. The audiobook, narrated by Brad Wills, is so worth the addition. Mr. Wills deserves 5 stars for his amazing narration bringing the characters to life.

The reign of King John means dark days for all of England. Not one man, woman, or child lived without fear. Magnifying this fear is the man they call The Lord of the Shadows - a terrifying figure who sits at the right hand of the King, manipulating the royal moves like a puppet master. The Lord of the Shadows has been known to tear men apart with his bare hands and can, with a snap of his fingers, alter the future of anyone he chooses.

Kathryn LeVeque is a master storyteller who has the gift of transporting you as the reader through time and depositing you right into the story. Lord of the Shadows will make you laugh as well as cry, wonder and hold you in suspense. This is an phenomenal read, I wish we could give 10 stars for excellence. I also bought and listened to the audible version in which Brad Wills uses his amazing vocal talent to breath life into Kathryn LeVeque's characters. He consistently gives a 5 star performance carrying the story through your imagination with his ability to distinguish vocally between the characters. The book as well as the audiobook are both well worth your investment. Excellent work from all involved. Loved it 😀 .

Vonda's characters are always so well developed and thought out you can easily feel like you are there with them and they were real. Her attention to the smallest detail makes the story exciting to read, as well as providing a fabulous, believable visual experience. Partner all of that with the exceptional vocal talent of Dave Gillies, and the book just comes to life taking you with it. Don't miss the book, but Really don't miss out on this audio version. Another awesome write from Suzan Tisdale! I admit, I cheated and listened to the audio version first because I love listening to Brad Wills narrate the stories. Brad always gives a 5 star performance and truly brings the characters to life. Rose is a little spitfire and Ian is the big, manly man, protector, and boss in training. This is the delightful book 1 of a new highland romance series that would be appropriate for anyone to read. (Which I personally appreciate) I listened straight through and am now about to begin book 2... more of the adventure.

Awesome fast paced story with unexpected possibilities involving future and past events. I like that the strong well developed characters were an extension of the previous trilogy. Brian J. Gill gives an excellent, 5 star performance as the audible narrator. His talent gave life to all the characters with his accurate and believable pronunciations and regional accents and voices for the varied characters. I have really enjoyed all of the boo k s in these connected series very much. Not only has Elizabeth Rose given us another amazing adventure, but Brian J. Gill gives an amazing audible performance. They really seem to make a excellent, coordinated team, to bring us an enjoyable listening experience.

This is a delightful novella and hopefully a prequel to more stories about the Forbes family and their history. As with all of Kathryn Le Veque's books, the characters are strongly developed and their personalities are such that it's easy to become emotionally invested in them and their outcome. This is the first time I believe that I've listened to Nick Cracknell as a narrator. I must say, I most definitely give him 5 stars for his wonderful performance in bringing the story and characters to life. I look forward to hearing more of his work. This is an awesome audiobook and easy to recommend, especially to any who are unsure if they will enjoy the audible experience.
