I've found a new favorite author. This book grabbed my attention immediately, the narrator was excellent and I didn't want to take a break from listening. The multiple twists and turns kept me intrigued, It was exciting, had no foul language or graphic sex. I can't wait for Chad Zunker's next book in audio.

Although this was not the best of the action thrillers that I've listened to it did keep me interested enough to get to the end. The narrator was far from my favorite because of his rather stilted reading throughout. All of this said, I would listen to another Tigner novel.

Daniel might be concerned, but he's not convinced that a bodyguard - and a female one at that - is necessary. A new attack and his niece's urgings are enough to make him reconsider.

What did you love best about The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die?

Intriguing plot that went in a different direction than I expected.

What does Cristina Panfilio bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought she was an adequate reader and was able to bring the gender differences to the voices. Being a person with hearing loss her lower timber helped greatly because I cannot hear high pitches.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Exciting without vulgarities and graphic sex. Loved that.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It was not a 4 or 5 star experience

What could David Johnson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The story could have been much less graphic. I could not stand to listen to the entire book. 5 chapters and I'd had enough. The same story could have been told without the minute details.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The reader's voice is easy to listen to.

Any additional comments?

If you do not like graphic details of sexual abuse this is not the story to listen to.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story was OK but definitely not what I expected from David Baldacci. I'm a big fan of this author so I was a bid disappointed. It seemed to lack the intensity that his other books have. It bordered on being more of a romance novel and in that case it could have used a bit more romance.

Would you be willing to try another book from David Baldacci? Why or why not?

Always - have loved all of his other books and this one was not that bad.

What does Tim Matheson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Matheson is awesome. I have a hearing deficit and his voice comes through very clearly making it an easy listen for me.

Could you see The Christmas Train being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Maybe if there was a little more romance (not sex but rather times of flirtations and affection). Richard Gere and Julia Roberts would be great in the movie.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it is a wonderful continuation of the Virgin River saga which I'm hooked on. Wish it would go on and on but all good things do have to come to and end sometime. The characters are so engaging and have very real personalities.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, the previous Robyn Carr books all set around Virgin River. They were all done very well. Great voice changes for the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but that was not possible because of the length of the book and unfortuately I had to go to work.
