My name is Lilith Mae Madison and I am captain of the Phoenix. There is something strange happening on my ship, something that cannot be explained. On the other side of the known universe, we are waiting for a wormhole to open so we can return home with news that could save the human race, but someone, or something, has other ideas. My crew are being picked off one by one, and whoever is responsible is very, very strong, and very, very clever. I'm struggling to hold onto my sanity while also maintaining control of my ship and crew.

I enjoyed this somewhat surreal sci-fi murder mystery that takes place on a spaceship that is waiting for a wormhole to open so that the ship can return home. It’s an interesting mix of complicated relationships, space exploration, intrigue, romance and survival. The narrators British accent made for an interesting listen, though the recording did seem to cause her S’s to slur a little. This was an entertaining audiobook with a surprise twist at the end.

I once again really enjoyed this humorous, cozy mystery in the Viola Roberts series. Viola would be such a fun friend to have but she does seem to manage to get herself (and her friend) involved in some dicey situations. This is a great murder mystery with twists, red herrings, hints of romance and lots of humor and wine. It has a great cast of characters and the narration on the audiobook is excellent, she really shows the humor in the story well. This is a fun read that will keep you guessing until the end.

While he works to clear Susan’s name, his crusade is sidelined when a bar manager is murdered during an apparent armed robbery. An entertaining and enjoyable first story in the Ghost Squadron series. As threats from unknown sources threaten the safety of Federation space, General Lance sets the ball rolling to form a secret “hit squad” to try to combat these threats and keep the Federation citizens safe. I loved the quirky characters, the humour and the mix of human, alien and AI in this story. Julianna leaves you wondering as to her advancements and you get the feeling there is more to her has been revealed, and Eddie makes you laugh out loud. The narrator drew you into the story and gave individual voices to the characters. Action, intrigue, battles and entertaining characters form the lively start of what is going to be a great series.

This is an entertaining paranormal story in which Missy (a West Point cadet/werecat/witch) and her friends once again help the government combat terrorist attacks using their special abilities. Missy’s powers continue to develop and you never know what she will be able to accomplish next. The narration fit the story well and she did a great job of all the accents, making it easy to distinguish the different characters. It is an enjoyable, fun story that can be read as a stand-alone but you would get much more from it if you have read/listen to the previous books, as Missy’s evolution is great to follow.

This is an entertaining murder mystery that is generously interlaced with facts. Even though the story is a work of fiction, the issues it brings to light with the FDA, stock market and the security commission are real world problems, many of which are still present. It is definitely an eye opener. It breaks your heart that greed and manipulation of markets are more important than peoples lives. Listening to the audiobook version seemed to bring home the events and its effects on the people involved much more than just reading the words would have. The author did a great job of showing the corruption and faults in the system while still creating an intriguing murder mystery with realistic, appealing characters.

This is an entertaining story that continues on from where the first book left off. As Azerick flees his problems with the Academy, he finds himself in even deeper water as he is enslaved and forced to fight in an arena by a creature that is able to control his mind. This story has a variety of creatures, plenty of action, magic, tragedy and love. You can't help but feel for Azerick as his life seems to go from one epic struggle to the next with just enough moments of light to keep him going. He is a strong, caring and potentially very powerful character that you want to see excel and achieve some lasting happiness. The narrator of the audiobook did an excellent job of giving the characters individual voices and making the “bug” creatures suitable creepy. He made you feel the emotions, had the story flow smoothly and at just right the pace. I look forward to seeing how Azerick's talents and his life progresses in the next book.

Jaxson is the pack alpha, he is strong, sexy and determined, and the chemistry between him and Olivia is great. I loved Olivia’s character, she is brave, kind and giving.
