Widowed and with child, Emma Malcom is fleeing from the reward offered for her arrest. She’s innocent of the dirty dealings her deceased husband orchestrated, but the angry townspeople didn’t stop to listen to her defense before she narrowly escaped with her life. Now, she and her twin brother, Joseph, must battle the mountain wilderness of the Rockies to reach Canada and the clean start she craves. But when a fall from the rocky cliff leaves Joseph wounded and weak, could the strange mountain man they encounter be God’s gift to see them to safety?
Fantastic description of a journey to finding an everlasting love!! Simeon and Emma are the mountain version of Romeo and Juliet!
Susan Farr loses her parents and her home in one swoop. She takes her horse and rides to Independence, Missouri, to join a wagon train and start a new life. Mike Todd, the wagon master, doesn’t allow single women to have their own wagons. It causes fights and distractions. Susan solves her problem by marrying Clancy Willis in name only. Unfortunately, Clancy’s true nature doesn’t take long to show, and Susan finds herself married to a drunkard.
I absolutely loved this story. Love truly does win out in the end if you just open your heart and give it a chance.

Bounty hunter Wyatt McCade is taking down outlaws one at a time. He's been in love with Tess Sullivan for years, but she refuses to give in to her feelings. Reeling from the rejection of his marriage proposal, he chases bounties with little concern for his own safety. When word reaches him that Tess never left for Boston, he rides for Cheyenne to confront her. Instead, he is ambushed and left for dead. Doctor Tess Sullivan shattered her heart by refusing Wyatt McCade's marriage proposal and making the biggest mistake of her life, by holding onto a secret.
Every woman needs and/or wants a Wyatt in her life! Who says a knight has to ride in on a white stallion? In this story he comes in on a palimino!
As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling. Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.
Absolutely loved this story from beginning to end! The story carries you along with Sawyer and Rose so that you are part of their journey. Looking forward to continuing with the McCabe brothers.
Jilted and humiliated by the man she had expected to marry, Emma Hartwood now feels that she is a burden at home. In desperation, she starts corresponding with a gold prospector out West named Harry and decides to become a mail order bride.
This was a very good book. You do not have to have given birth to a baby to fall in love with it, as Emma learned so happily.
Callie Daniels' mother has one dying wish. She wants neighboring rancher, Garrett O'Neill, to marry her 17-year-old daughter. It's not supposed to be a conventional marriage. Garrett O'Neill would keep Callie's ranch safe, and Callie would go away to college. Four years later, Callie comes home with stars in her eyes and happily ever after in her heart. She plans to make their marriage real until she finds the new housekeeper, Sylvie, in Garrett's arms.
Every girl needs and/or wants a sexy cowboy to ride in and save the day! This book offers not one but two heroes who ride in and save the heroine...too bad her heart only beats for one. She gave her heart to him much too young and now must prove to him that her heart along with her body is grown-up and ready to be his equal. Can't wait to read the next book in the series and find out if cowboy #2 finds true love.
Caroline is desperate to reach Oregon and find her only living relative. She persuades Simon, a man traveling on a wagon train, to let her pose as his wife. As they face and overcome capture by Indians and other dangerous adventures along the Oregon Trail, Caroline and Simon bond as friends. When they reach Oregon and Caroline's Aunt Hattie, they go their separate ways as agreed upon at the beginning of their farce. Soon, they both realize that parting was a mistake. Did love come too quietly for them to recognize it—and have they lost their chance? Will they find each other again?
Every woman wants a love like Carrier and Simon have in this wonderful book. Barbara has written another fantastic love story with just enough mystery and adventure to keep you wanting more. Well worth listening and reading!!

Abigail Johnson hadn't expected that a lawman of the Wild West would ignite something in her she’d thought died along with her first husband. Now that they are married, he wants to take her into the Indian Territory. Gabe Hawkins aims to find what lies further beneath Abby’s matronly facade. When an order from the territory judge reassigns Gabe to Fred, Indian Territory, he and Abby are forced to start a new life away from civilization.
Loved reading the story of Abbie after meeting her in Rose's story. She is such a strong but loving character. Hope she and her marshall show up in another book in this series; along with Rose!
Roseanne Duncan witnesses her employer push his sickly wife down the staircase. Fearing she’ll have to testify against a prominent man in town, she answers an ad for a mail-order bride in Dodge City. Believing this is a way for her to escape the possible danger of her employer, she travels to Dodge City and marries under the name of Abigail Johnson. Rose hadn’t expected the handsome man waiting for her to be a bartender with a six shooter on his hip and a badge on his chest.
I loved this story! Rose came as a replacement bride to a man who had closed off his heart to love but just seeing this beauty made him see his mistake. That she turns out to be a beauty both inside and outside is a bonus.
