It has been 13 years since the war started, the bombs were dropped, and the central states became a thing of the past. When the war ended, a wall was erected to divide the surviving states from those destroyed. I never expected to go beyond the wall, but unlike all the others who volunteered to go, I wasn't given a choice. With a dim knowledge of what I could do, the soldiers came for me. They took me beyond the wall where I learned that the truth is far more terrifying than I'd ever dreamed.

Just the right amount of supernatural action, adventure, drama and romance. Not too many authors are able to find such a perfect balance of the 4. This book is worth every penny. If you like Stacey Marie Brown books then you will enjoy this new series. Good narration as well!

The Fae war is coming, and I'm caught right in the middle. My father, the ruthless Unseelie king, is dead. It should have been our moment of triumph. Instead, we find ourselves hiding in London from our ancient enemies, the Seelie. From Roan’s city mansion, we need to unite the six Unseelie courts to fight back. Unfortunately, centuries-old feuds make this almost impossible. To make things worse, there’s no good reason for anyone to listen to us. After all, I’m just a pixie bastard. Did I mention that my dread powers are gone?

There isn’t much that wasn’t great about the last book in the dark Fae series. It stretched the span of human emotion’s. I would have loved a little more intimacy between the two main characters in this conclusion but otherwise well worth the time and money.

While I enjoyed this book. It flowed easy, had a unique story line and lots of romantic sex. It however, was a little short; lacking good world building. Also, a little more character building would have made this good 4 Star an awesome 5 Star. Star crossed just seemed to lack that deep emotional connection with its characters that makes you laugh and cry along your reading journey. I still recommend this series to those who love a good romantic paranormal story. Hopefully this author will only get better with time.

This series is a must read if you like fantasy books with romance and intriguing plot twists. Although Cassandra has struggled with her past and her Fae heritage. In this book she finally starts to resolve those issues; accepting who she really is. Plus, as a bonus we finally get to see Rohn and Cassandra’s relationship progress fully ( yes they finally consummate the bond).

While this could have been a great read. It fell flat because the characters lacked depth and believability. The main female character was just plain weak. It’s was hard to believe given the plot and story line that she fell in love with 2 bothers who spent the vast majority of their relationship treating her like their sexual slave with very little consideration for her feelings or sexual preferences. When they first bring Eva home they don’t even let her wear clothes; telling her it’s a privilege. Honestly, I just couldn’t relate with her or the men in this story and I’m not Squamish when it comes to sex. That being said I have read other work by this author that was well written. Just not this story.

This is worth the time to listen. It’s not the best I have read but it is a unique story that involves a love hate romance . The plot is based around a fictional WWIII and the main character continues in her quest to negotiate and maintain peace for the western world. All while wrestling with her feelings towards the Eastern king. Personally, I think the series would have been better served by including more detail. Some aspects of the War are hard to believe. Despite the drawbacks there is still a great story of personal scarify and unexpected love.

This series is based around a fictional WWIII. The USA is not the winner this time. The Main character basically falls for the new World king who’s feelings are complicated by the emotional cost of the war. After being placed in a sleeping device for nearly a century while the king tries to heal her Cancer, she’s finally awoken to a world still at war. She awakes angery and bitter for being kept in stasis while things have continued to worsen. In the conclusion of this series she strives to finally bring the world peace. I like the authors unique plot and emotional development of the main characters. However, the book could have used more back stories. It lacked the details that make alternative fictional histories believable. There also was little balance, too many people were killed off. Making the plot sometimes seem unrealistic. Still despite the drawbacks it was still a good series.

If you like a clean (no sex) romance, based around an ancient Persian civilization with magic power thrown in. Then this is the book for you. While I enjoyed the authors world building, a little more heat in the romance department would have made this book a 5-star instead of a 4-star. I would have liked to see a harder, less innocent and naive main character but I'm hoping for more character development in the next installment.
