Where I'm living, it's winter now, the perfect time to plan next year's perennial garden. I loved listening to this book, with its down-to-earth assessment of the different types of beds and clear descriptions of the conditions under which each plant will thrive. I'm now well prepared to prevent damage from pests and ward off blight. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the names and characteristics of each plant. I like how the book is grouped by type of plant; it makes is so much easier to get to know how to take care of them! Well read!

I'm a proponent of Living (not just existing). Elizabeth Gilbert has presented (in her own voice) a delightful listen that'll affirm the many ways you already are embracing Full Living. With delightful humor and personal stories she lifts our eyes to see - and gain the most possible refreshment and energizing from - the magical moments in our lives.

Some authors detract from what they are reading, but Gilbert adds so much more to the text with humor, inflection, and her refreshing personality. The book may be good to read, but it's even more powerful to listen to!

I've read the paper version, but I found this audio version of Family Games to be indispensable when introducing games to a group. When I need to explain how a game is played, I can start the Audible description and act out the progression of the game. That way, everybody gets a show-and-tell presentation and they all hear the same instructions. I find it usually speeds up the learning process.

I found this business plan book both helpful in a practical sense and useful for inspiration. The author is good at breaking down the process of developing a plan into manageable pieces and at explaining WHY each is necessary. For a fledgling business owner, this is heartening news, indeed. I'm encouraged to get the work done and to do it right the first time. Well done, Susan!

I found this book very helpful in my quest to reduce inflammation. The recipes are proving a wonderful resource, giving me fresh ideas for foods I have not thought of. I also appreciated the information on what to eat and - more importantly - what to avoid.

This book is great for getting going with your startup business. it gives enough detail that you can start acting on what you've learned, but not so much that it's totally overwhelming. I appreciated the information on writing a business plan; it helped me understand the specific information I need to start amassing now, before I get started.

There is life outside the influence (of alcohol).

My friend struggles with addiction, has for years. So, when this book came out, I wanted to get a feel for what fuels his struggle. I have several friends who have been helped by the 30-days approach, so I was interested to get an inside look. This book helped me understand how 30 days of total abstinence can truly reboot a person's life!

Written in a supportive, understanding tone, the author walks you through each stage, from preparation and the initial commitment to the final days, including all the days in between. She details what you can expect to experience at each stage along the way and gives specific instructions for handling each challenge.

I finished this book with a greater appreciation for my friend's struggles, as well as a sense of hope that, yes, it is quite possible for a person who has a physical addiction to alcohol, to successfully kick the habit!

I loved immersing myself in this apartment community as it grew into an odd family of sorts that surrounded a young girl, and in ways that counted, provided tough love for her mother. The book is a celebration of what can go right when we do the next right thing, in spite of fears, and even though no results are guaranteed.

In no way is this a rose-colored portrait! It includes tough things that happen: people shut themselves away; people can be lonely and live side by side; sometimes people give up; and if you have an addiction or an obsession, it can make life even more of a challenge. But in this book, there is a gradual growing glimmer of hope. You can watch people come to life as they discover that they are not sidelined, they have a purpose for getting out of bed each day.
