I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy well-developed characters, a suspenseful drama and passionate romance.

The narrator is great.

SPOILERS

Only two criticisms:

1. I was disappointed there wasn't an epilogue or two. I always feel a bit cheated when the book ends immediately after the sentence where the couple finally get together for good. There were set-ups wasted, such as: Niall becoming pregnant from the night they got back together; and Donny being taken in by Vic, his father figure, and Niall, his mentor. Does Donny ever become an artist, and/or have a successful comic book, and/or meet Stan Lee because of his comic book? What was Vic writing? Was his next play about their relationship? Did the actress Niall felt intimidated by end up playing the character inspired by Niall? How does that backstage convo go? Do Niall's parents ever get their comeuppance? Etc. Or is it just me?

2. It appears the author used "19th century" to describe the 1900s (i.e. The 20th century). The author writes that the heroine is curating an art show of modern and contemporary artists of the 19th century, e.g. Nakamura. There were no contemporary artists until the 20th century, and Nakamura's most famous works were done in the 1950s.

The story is an interesting mystery. The premise is from the soap opera realm, though: a woman gets extensive plastic surgery to go undercover to save her brother from jail. If you can't buy into that, this book might not be for you.

Not much romance in the first 3 books - lots of pining, lying, arguments and revenge with a few erotic scenes. Book 4 heats things up. Wow - the plot twists in book 6! Book 7 chapter 15 - really???

The male narrator's voice is super-sexy. Yikes.

THE WILD SIDE TRILOGY

The narrator has the sexiest voice in the world. Help. Me.

There is a real story outside of the romance (yay!) I really appreciate the ending - it didn't just end suddenly... it felt right.

The sexy scenes are really erotic. *Fans self*

I gave this a five star rating because I'll probably listen to it again, I had an emotional connection, the narration was excellent and the sex was hot as hell.

You'll either love it or hate it.

The story is bizarre, often funny, frequently hot as hades, but also disturbing.

The relationships are not set in the real world - they are total fantasy with no connection with actual people or society mores. There are definite Lolita overtones. Many examples of sexual encounters that are accepted in this book would be harassment or assault in the real world. If you're not okay with that, I would not recommend this book for you.

The heroine's emotional interactions are quite odd - not what you would expect in the real world.

A 21-year-old naive virgin with no job experience and no life experience (and has never even been touched "that way" before) gets a high-paying position as a secretary at a sex club because she flashes her naked p%$$# to her older male boss, and then allows another old male sort-of-boss to finger her to climax while her boss watches.

Need I say more?

I tried to finish, but couldn't make it through the whining and complaining.

I would only recommend this book for people who have never read anything about non-vanilla sex before, but would like to learn the BDSM basics, step by excruciatingly detailed step.

The first half of this book was painful to listen to. Five+ hours of talking about shame before the first real kiss. Then more talk, e.g. "that's disgusting!" (I skipped quite a bit.)

If you can get to hour 6 or 7, it gets hot, but this woman is seriously the worst submissive ever, with constant complaints, arguments and questions.

The Dom is amazingly, unbelievably hot (of course) and the reason I kept listening. He's a pretty tame "training wheels" Dom for readers new to the genre.

The whole book is in the female POV. The narrator is okay.

And wow, her "best friend" is a monster! And she's her only friend. Harsh.

I'm not planning on reading book 2.
