Special Heart is a deeply touching personal story told through the eyes of a journalist as he faces the most daunting challenge in life - far more frightening than reporting from battlefields, infinitely more momentous than interviewing newsmakers of the day: caring for his critically ill newborn son. Baier reflects on past challenges as he looks forward with hope, chronicling the steps on his path to national prominence as a television anchor, as well as his unexpected journey into the world of pediatric cardiac disease.
if you are looking for a book like this to help encourage you through tough times of your own, this is the book for you. The love and hope this family had through their own journey helps bring hope to you in your own situation... and it shows God is a prayer hearing and answering God. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to one and all. I would like to personally thank Mr. Baier for sharing his family's story with us. It is a real encouragement!!!

Mercy Flanagan survived the Whitman Massacre as a child, and now her heart's cry is for peace between the native peoples and the white settlers inhabiting Oregon Territory. Unfortunately, most of the settlers would rather the tribes be removed from the land completely, one way or the other, and tensions are rising. Mercy has grown tired of Oregon City and feels that she has a larger purpose in life, so when she learns that family friend Eletta Browning is pregnant, she travels south to the Rogue River Valley to help.
this is a fantastic book. I was biting my fingernails all the way through. I had to call a couple friends to recommend this book. It takes place in the 1800's. It kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. When you think there is no way their lives could get any worse it does. Lots of twists and turns that keeps you wondering how it will turn out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
Hayden is on track to become the youngest partner in her prestigious DC law firm.... If the case she's just been handed doesn't destroy her first. Hayden McCarthy knows firsthand the pain that follows when justice is not served. It's why she became an attorney and why she's so driven in her career. When she's assigned a wrongful death case against the government, she isn't sure if it's the lucky break she needs to secure a partnership - or an attempt to make sure she never gets there.
This is a new Christian author to me on audible. I took a chance on buying the book as I had never heard of her before. I am glad I did. Tiny bit of romance as the gal tries to figure out who killed her client. This is a clean Christian book. I highly recommend this book. I hope audible will put more of her books on their list available for folks like me.

Guarding witnesses? All in a day's work for deputy US marshal Carly Masterson. Protecting the judge who was indirectly responsible for her mentor's death? That's another story. Still, she won't let harm come to Judge Nicholas Floyd, or the niece and nephew in his care. She's determined to do the job right, and not let her emotions take over - no matter how wonderful it feels to be accepted by the little family. Can she let go of the past and learn to trust again before danger finds them once more?
Mrs. Eason has written another WINNER. this is a clean mystery book...a bit of romance as marshalls try to keep the judge safe. Check to see if they are able to keep him and his family safe...from folks trying to kill them...you will have to listen to find out for yourself. I highly recommend this book!!!

Tess O'Rourke dreams of becoming the first female chief of police in Long Beach, California. As commander of the East Division, she is well on her way...until the night she responds to an officer-needs-assistance call and fatally shoots an unarmed teenager. Despite being cleared of wrongdoing by a grand jury, Tess is so hounded by the public that she takes a job in Oregon to escape the bad press.
Ms. Cantore is a new Christian author to audible as far as I know. While there are references to God..the book is not preachy. Rather it is going through cases that are related. It held my attention all the way through as the lady policeman was working to desperately solve the cases she was working. I thoroughly enjoyed the in(s) and out(s) as she tries to solve the cases she has. I couldn't recommed this book highly enough!! I sure hope audible will produce more of her books for those who are visually impaired like me or who just enjoy listening to audio books! !!!

After receiving a desperate and confusing call from her sister, Hannah Lapp reluctantly returns to the Old Order Amish community of her Pennsylvania childhood. Having fled in disgrace more than two years earlier, she finally has settled into a satisfying role in the Englischer world. She also has found love and a new family with the wealthy Martin Palmer and the children she is helping him raise.
Wonderful conclusion to the three part series by Ms. Woodsmall. I have listened to all three. Couldn't recommend this series highly enough. She is my favorite Amish author.
Lena Kauffman is a young Old Order Amish schoolteacher who has dealt all her life with attention raised by a noticeable birthmark on her cheek. Having learned to move past the stares and whispers, Lena channels her zest for living into her love of teaching. But tensions mount as she is challenged to work with a rebellious young man and deal with several crises at the schoolhouse that threaten her other students. One member of the school board, Grey Graber, feels trapped by his own stifling circumstances.
I have become a real fan of ms woodsmall's books! This book is no different. There are many twists and turns that kept me rivited to the very end. Although the gal trusted God things just seemed to get worse and worse. Book shows God takes the rotten things of life and can bring good out of them if we keep trusting Him. Obviously I highly recommend this book to one and all!!
When Marianna Santino's roommate is killed, Detective Ethan O'Hara can't fathom the motive. Then he realizes the deaf teacher was the intended target. Marianna must have something the murderer desperately wants. But what? Digging for the truth, the guarded cop tries to learn everything he can about Marianna. Her world. Her family. Her beauty, faith, and fierce independence. In spite of himself, Ethan finds that he can't keep his feelings at bay. Soon, he's willing to risk everything to lay the silent terror stalking Marianna to rest.
Mrs Eason is one of my most favorite authors! I have everything she has written that is on audible. She has done it again with this book. I did change the speed of the narration to .85 to make the book more listenable for my taste. She has written this book about a gal who is deaf and someone is trying to kill her. A homicide cop is assigned to keep her safe as they try to figure out out who is behind these crimes. If you like clean mysteries, then you will like this book. I can't recommend book highly enough to one and all!!
This is a touching chronicle of the loves, trials, and joys of a Michigan family in the first half of the 20th century.
wow...at first I wasn't sure I would like this book. It seemed to start kind of slow...but as I kept listening I realized it was the story of a woman totally sold out to God throughout her lifetime. How God's faithfulness sees her though extremely hard times. There were times that were hilarious as I could just picture what was happening...but the main thing was the faithfulness of God to her......it had an ending I really liked...and that's all I will say about that so l won't spoil it for you. Needless to say I highly recommend this book! !!!
