Read a lot of negative reviews. Was it predictable. No not really? A lot of loose ends or unnecessary loose ends. I LOVE Fiona Hardingham. She’s a great narrator. I bought the book because of her.

The story wasn’t terrible. But the main character too trusting and made me hard to like her because of the unsafe situations she put herself in. Especially for prior experiences. The story became hard to believe she wouldn’t be more cautious. My only gripe.

I’ll call it a entertaining story, not likely to go onto to next book in series.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Enjoyed this story. Rosario did a great job with narration. Cocky smuggler saves Artemis. Some language, but goes with the story.

Fun adventure.

The story started off great. But it ended up dragging. I actually skipped through the last 1.5. The story has promise, and might come together next book. But I hate when a mystery drags on too long. The relationships didn't develop enough and romance some what flat. I'm shocked I'm not really giving it a good review. Because I love Fiona Hardingham. I could try to rethink k this book. It just seemed like they had a great idea but then met writers block and we had to sit through it too.

Overall an interesting concept. Plot twist kinda fell flat at the end.

When Jordie Bennet and Shaw Kinnard lock eyes across a disreputable backwater bar, something definitely sparks. Shaw gives off a dangerous vibe that makes men wary and inspires women to sit up and take notice. None feel that undercurrent more strongly than savvy businesswoman Jordie, who doesn't belong in a seedy dive on the banks of a bayou. But here she is...and Shaw Kinnard is here to kill her.

I enjoyed Friction and mean streak better. I didn't think the chemistry was developed well. The story was good, with good twists... But it took a long time to get there. There were times I thought it went on.

The narrator has a great voice for a gruff manly man. But fir the women, wish he didn't make the female character sound winey. She needed to be a little more snotty instead of weak.

Very few books I have read or listened too, that I just can't do anything else until the story is over. Very few original story lines that don't seem similar to some other book.
I loved this story. Her descriptions of characters surroundings or experiences were flavorful. Not over dramatic. Nor did she spend too much time with it.

Battle scenes seemed real and convincing. Along with the emotion behind it. The heat/lust/love between some of the characters were just enough to feel excited and want without pushing beyond young reader rating. Other elements that make this an all around pleasing novel ... Diversity, politics, fantasy, legends, love.

Every character has a story and why they bring either misery, rebellion, or heroism to the plot.

The narrators were awesome. I appreciate the different voices per character. They were animated perfectly.

I only wish the next book was out if there is a sequel. I don't want to wait. 😀

I love the maze runner series. I'm interested in where this is going. My experience usually with any series that book 2 is a little dull, but necessary to fill in details for the bigger plot. I felt the book was rather long, and to much mind play. I just wanted to say "get on with it!." I felt some characters introduced to quickly or not enough information to have a loyalty too, even though the author expected it. I miss some of the glader friends. Like Newt. He was in the story, but in the background.

The story itself still intriguing and good adventure. Hope book 3 will fill in the void carried over from book 2.
Love, love the narrator.
