In a decrepit and long-empty New York building, a man begins the demolition process by swinging a sledgehammer into a wall. When the dust clears, he finds two skeletons wrapped in plastic behind it. The man is Lieutenant Eve Dallas’s billionaire husband, Roarke, and he summons her immediately. His latest real estate project is going to be on hold for a while, because by the time Eve and her crew are finished searching the premises, there are 12 murders to be solved.

Hired by a prestigious D.C. law firm after barely surviving witnessing the murder of the First Lady, attorney Jessica Ford is deliberately keeping a low profile as she gets a sensational rape case involving a senator’s son, whom she is defending, is abruptly dismissed because the victim recants on the stand. The problem is, Jess suspects that the victim recanted because she was threatened. Meanwhile, she has an uneasy feeling about the beautiful young associate she replaced: where is Allison Howard
The begining ready had me. But for me al the negitive middle was a turn off the end got better. Most people will enjoy this book is all I will say. I need a little more postive romancing why do couple always have to go thru so much before they figure it out 😏

In the posh London street of Paragon Walk, a young woman is brutally raped and murdered. Once again the incomparable team of sleuths, Inspector Thomas Pitt and his young wife, Charlotte, peer beneath the elegant masks of the well-born suspects and reveal that something ugly lurks behind the handsome facades of Paragon Walk, something that could lead to more scandal, and more murder.
This book makes me truly wish I never purchase it, I wonder why it wasn't in my library I am going to request a refund her quote disgust me "women somewhere in their mind long for rape" WHAT 🙀IS Anne perry really a woman. I know this is suppose to be entertainment but ......that offends me 💥I like the characters of inspector Pitt and sometimes his wife I gave this book two stars because of that line of though she put in place for Charlotte thoughts utterly ridiculous

On one of the city's hottest nights, New York Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas is sent to Central Park - and into a hellish new investigation. The victim is found on the rocks, just above the still, dark water of The Lake in the park. Around her neck is a single red ribbon. Her hands are posed, as if in prayer. But it is the eyes - removed with such precision, as if done by the careful hand of a surgeon - that have Dallas most alarmed.
I love this series especially Peabody and mag nab. This series must be started from the beginning the characters are well developed Roarke and Eve is my favorites.
On Jericho Phillips' floating brothel, sex slaves are forced to endure unspeakable acts. Now one such soul, 13-year-old Fig, is found with his throat cut, his tortured body tossed into the river. Commander William Monk of the River Police swears that Phillips will hang for this abomination. But the miscreant is as wily as he is monstrous, and his wealthy clients seem far beyond the reach of the law.
I just did not like anything hardly about this book. The contents was unbearable.i fast forward most of f it and will not recommend it to any one not into hurting children.most of Anne books are great and great characters love Scott, heather and monk, hated raftbone and Martha in this one.these are just my opioin I've listen to most of the series not sure how you could bypass but🙈🙊hate this one.
Annabelle Peyton, determined to save her family from disaster, decides to use her beauty and wit to tempt a suitable nobleman into making an offer of marriage. But Annabelle’s most intriguing — and persistent — admirer, wealthy, powerful Simon Hunt, has made it clear that while he will introduce her to irresistible pleasure he will not offer marriage. Annabelle is determined to resist his unthinkable proposition…but it is impossible in the face of such skillful seduction.
Thank goodness for a writer that listens. I was pleasantly surprise i must admit I was beginning to believe this book was like all the rest man chase woman love hate relationship and than they come together finally than the end. It had become so frustrating to listen to the drama the couples had to go through and than no information hardly ever when they are finally together just a few loving making spots but Lisa pull it off trying not to give the story away but for me I enjoy the way she put it together there was a few frustrating parts but well blended. A good listen.

McKenna Mason, a New York City attorney with a love of all things Prada, is on the run from a group of powerful, dangerous men. McKenna turns to a teenage crush, Will Ashton, for help in starting a new life in beautiful horse country. She finds that Will is now a handsome, successful race horse farm owner. As the old flame is ignited, complications are aplenty in the form of a nasty ex-wife, an ex-boyfriend intent on killing her, and a feisty race horse who refuses to race without a kiss. Can Will and McKenna cross the finish line together, and more importantly, alive?

Ann Silver is a cop’s cop. As the Midwest Homicide Investigator, she is called in to help local law enforcement on the worst of cases, looking for answers to murder. Hers is one of the region’s most trusted investigative positions. Paul Falcon is the FBI’s top murder cop in the Midwest. If the victim carried a federal badge or had a security clearance, odds are good Paul and his team see the case file or work the murder. Their lives intersect when Ann arrives to pass a case off her desk and onto his.

In 2006, Nalini Singh introduced the beguiling and sensual Psy-Changeling world in Slave to Sensation, which spawned a series that has had readers and critics cheering. Throughout the incredible 11-book run there has been one question that has tantalized Nalini's legion of fans. Now, in the eagerly awaited 12th book in the series, Nalini Singh finally reveals the answer to the biggest Psy-Changeling mystery - an answer so surprising we wouldn't dare spoil it. Even if we knew.
Hit the mark, again there were times I just wanted to fast forward but it kept me interested.
I need to re listen to the series.
A general election is approaching and Thomas is called to monitor the bitter struggle for one crucial London seat. The Tory candidate is Charles Voisey, ruthless Number One of the Inner Circle and old enemy of Pitt.
I've listen to all the Charlotte Pitt stories that are available didn't think I would enjoy another author other than Davina but Michael did a excellent job and the stories have been gripping I'm so sleep deprive. If you love mystery I recommend all of Pitt series I love them,Pitt is my favorite, a hard working husband and father you will cheer for him in all the books, all the others are well developed characters. All are most excellent
