Ashton Granger is a perfect wife to her husband. She has to be, if she's not, he will find a way to correct any perceived imperfections. Such is life, and so it has been for a very long time, eroding Ashton's sense of self, cracking her sense of worth until she lies in a million pieces on the side of a stretch of lonely highway.
The story wasn't too bad a little too stereotypical for my taste. But the narration was horrible! The first thing that you hear is this terrible music and a hollow voice saying what chapter you are on it is distracting and harsh on your ears. Annabelle Warren was very monotonous through out the book. There was no feeling in any of her dialog but she did a good male voice. Jackson Hunter was the wrong man for this book. When I hear his voice I think of a barrel chested gruff older man with a pot belly, not a blue eyed blonde haired 36 year old with rippling muscles. It was so distracting that I couldn't concentrate on the book because I was laughing at the dialog. The dialog sounded really forced and he cant even come close to a female tone. His chapters were so confusing because his voice didn't fluctuate for the female parts at all so I had no clue who was saying what. I couldn't finish the book and was disappointed.
There's an animal in me that I keep hidden. Beth calls to him. She tempts the monster and lures him to the surface. I'm obsessed with her. I can't stay away, even when doing so puts my entire club in danger. Her blood is on my hands. I formed her to fit only me. I was her first and if I have to kill everyone in our way. So be it. I will be her last. She is mine.
The story was terrible to begin with then you add in the hilarious narration and I couldn't even get into the terrible story! I have read and listened to really cheesy or unbelievable stories but this one takes the cake. The performance was by far the worst one i have ever heard! You could tell that they were both forcing it. Morgan Tyler's southern accent was laughable at best and the way Leo Barnabas said certain words made you think of a perverted old man talking dirty to you when all you want to do is run away. very disappointed I would give negative stars if I could. I have no clue how people like this.

He says he wants to protect me. And, through a series of events I can't fully make sense of, I find myself believing him. But our nightly visits are always cloaked in darkness. I don't know his face, and he will never know mine. I was born into this world unwanted. I will leave this world unmasked.
Terrible book! The characters were VERY badly written, there was little to no plot through the whole book. I truly regret buying not just this book but the other 2 in the series. I have had the book about a month and still cant make it through to the end.
