A masterly retelling of Homer’s epic poem 'The Iliad' recreates the age of heroes in this spellbinding introduction to the Greek Classics.
Of course, the Iliad is a classic must-read. Usually taught in high school or college humanities, this easier to understand translation makes more sense of the monsters and gods. It seemed to take much longer than the stated three hours. The only criticism is Mr. Glenister was rather a static reader; however, this approach allows the tale to do the telling, rather than fanciful reading.
"Nope, that little feller don't look like he'll amount to much." That's what almost everyone said about Little Bub. But young Joel Goss knew that Little Bub was a special colt, even though he was a runt. When schoolteacher Justin Morgan asked Joel to gentle the colt, Joel was thrilled. Little Bub proved that size and breed weren't everything. Soon word spread throughout the entire Northeast that this spirited colt could pull heavier loads than a pair of oxen and run faster than thoroughbreds.
The reader did a great job performing animated voices. Very engaging story, especially for horse lovers!
