A resident of one of LA's toughest neighborhoods uses his blistering intellect to solve the crimes the LAPD ignores. East Long Beach. The LAPD is barely keeping up with the neighborhood's high crime rate. Murders go unsolved, lost children unrecovered. But someone from the neighborhood has taken it upon himself to help solve the cases the police can't or won't touch. They call him IQ. He's a loner and a high school dropout, his unassuming nature disguising a relentless determination and a fierce intelligence.
Joe Ide is a master! He has written a new anti-hero - IQ - who is at once fallible, but manages to triumph over each obstacle placed in his way. I love the characters, the writing, the story line and the way Ide incorporates the characters into the plot in unexpected ways. Fast moving and uncomplicated writing - yet, very compelling. Have read both of Ide's books - can't wait for the next chapter. Narrator Sullivan Jones is one of the best voices in Audio Books!
Forrmer academic Arthur Opp weighs 550 pounds and hasn’t left his rambling Brooklyn home in a decade. Twenty miles away in Yonkers, seventeen-year-old Kel Keller navigates life as the poor kid in a rich school and pins his hopes on what seems like a promising baseball career - if he can untangle himself from his family drama.
A wonderful story! I cared about each character and their relationships as the story developed!. The surprise ending left me wanting to know what happens next in the lives of the characters. Great narration!
Alone and on the run, betrayed at every turn, Jenna's path takes her from sun-drenched Key West to the alligator-infested Everglades, the streets of Miami, and the Caribbean islands. Along the way brutal criminals, deadly assassins, and the forces of nature conspire to end her life unless she can rise to embrace an impossible destiny and unleash her own lethal potential. Everything Jenna has been told about herself is a lie, and the truth is a secret that may destroy the world--or save it.
Grabbed me from first chapter! Narrator is fantastic! Very engaging and brings listener into the story!

Neal Carey has to keep the mob, the FBI, and a major television personality from killing his newest client—but he’s tempted to do the job himself.
Just discovered Don Winslow. His writing is tight - his characters are quirky - but very relatable. Stories remind me of old fashioned radio dramas. Love the Narrator - he really pulls the listener into the story!
Highly recommend this title and its Narrator!
