They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it's true. The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares. He is a brilliant lawyer. A skilled criminal. A beautiful liar. A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover. Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn't leaving until he takes me with him.
It took me a while to put my thoughts in order to come up with a review for this book. I love the ending, that at least he tried to redeem himself, and we get to see his side of the story, what made him the way he is. I love enemies to lovers story, but this one pushes beyond any limits. Had a hard time liking Vicious and what an apt name for him. Is Emilia such a weak woman to accept it for so long? I don't think so, but she puts up with it for too long. It ends well, but redemption came to light too late... at least for me.
Loved the voices of Ms. Peachwood and Mr. Rummel, it was a pleasure listening to them voice the many characters.
Steph Hargrove was a bombshell, a sexy, intrepid woman operating in the business world with guts, brains, and daring. She was accustomed to going after whatever she wanted, until a man she called a friend betrayed her. Gavin O'Neill is an artisan with wood, a gardener, a restorer of battered homes, and a savior of strays. When first he meets the wounded woman who postures as invincible and worldly, the sadness in her eyes draws him even more than her lush figure does.
Talk about two people so unsuited for each other that is a wonder they even managed to talk to each other. I didn't like Steph for quite a while, so self-centered bordering on mean, not sure how Gavin put up with it. I guess the heart doesn't care. Loved Gavin though, warm and protective, definite book boyfriend material. He broke down her defences and warms up her heart, giving her the courage to believe in love and HEA.
I love Mr. Dove's voice, warm, versatile, he modulates it to fit the characters, the moods, the emotions. The more I listen to his work the more I want.
When I joined the force after coming back from the sandbox, I didn't expect my day-to-day life would be anything but routine. It wasn't. I was barely more than a rookie when I was tapped to go undercover with some biker gang made up of other veterans...the "Boneyard Brotherhood" they called themselves. While my partner, Tara, posed as my "pretend girlfriend", we were tasked with finding evidence the sheriff could use to convict the members. It seemed easy enough. It wasn't though. Things soon got complicated, both at the Boneyard and between Tara and me.
Another great addition to the series in the same lighter MC-mode as the previous books but with a little more edge though. From soldier to cop to brother in the MC club, it almost feels like a natural evolution for Chase. I was not sure about Tara for a while and was thinking it might not be a lasting relationship. In the end, it worked out and we got their HFN ending. A mix of romance, a few suspenseful moments, and what I liked the most is the strong bond and loyalty of the brotherhood that the club members have for each other.
Mr. Welles did another great audio, I enjoy listening to the many voices he gives to the characters. Always a pleasure.
Cold, hard, and utterly ruthless, Rocco is the most dangerous of men. Feelings are a luxury he cannot afford - until a chance encounter brings him face to face with the only woman who found her way into his heart and touched his soul. Grace Mantini has spent her whole life running from the mob. The daughter of the boss's right-hand man, she is both a prize and a target. When Rocco walks back into her life, she wants nothing to do with the man who betrayed her and broke her heart. But only Rocco can protect her from the dangerous forces that seek to destroy her family.
A great addition to the series, I enjoyed listening to this story as much as the previous two books. Love Ms. Castille's style in creating gritty, engaging stories with lovable characters. Rocco is quite a badass hero and he falls hard for Grace, but has to give her up, breaking her heart. They reunite and is hard for them to connect again when both try to keep their heart out of the line of fire. Love wins in the end and they get their HEA despite the obstacles put in their path.
We get to see again Luca and Gabriella also Nico and Mia, characters from the previous two books, and catch up on their stories, bonus! Waiting for the next one, I hope it will be soon.
As usual, Mr. Snow did an amazing job, his voice is addictive.
It wasn't the way this kind of story was supposed to go...insta-love isn't supposed to turn into insta-hate. But that's exactly what happened when the dreamboat I met in a bar turned out to be a lying, cheating scumbag looking for nothing but a little side action. And he has the nerve to call me a liar and a "sociopath"? Asshole. And now, three months later, it turns out my boss is marrying his sister in Hawaii and I've got to play nice with him for an entire freaking week.
I enjoyed listening to the story of how Tessa meets Ryan, how they meet again... although wanted to knock their heads together a few times how they kept misreading each other, especially Tessa when she jumped to conclusions so easily. Loved the Morgans, their closeness and the nicknames were hilarious. Glad Tessa and Ryan get their HEA in the end.
My first listen to the voices of Ms. Rowe and Mr. Lane and I enjoyed their production. Looking forward to more.
The Boneyard Brotherhood took me in, gave me purpose. My life became about my bike, my brothers, my freedom. But there was still something missing; something I needed but couldn't put my finger on. Once I laid eyes on Madi, I knew I had to have her, her curves, her subdued smile, the way her face flushed when I called her sweetcheeks. But before I could make her mine, I had to convince her to look past the tough tattooed biker image she was afraid of and find the real me.
One of the lightest MC stories I listened to and was quite a fresh change. A mix of romance with some suspense, healing after being in the war, Sid finds happiness with Maddie despite the few rough patches on their journey to HEA.
I picked it because the narrator, Mr. Welles is one of my faves and I would listen to any of his audios with pleasure. His voice is quite flexible, love especially the deep raspy rumble he gave Sid.
David Cruz is good at two things: war and training dogs. The ex-soldier's toughest case is Atlas, a Belgian Malinois whose handler died in combat. Nobody at Hope's Crossing kennel can break through the animal's grief. That is, until dog whisperer Evelyn Jones walks into the facility...and into Atlas' heart. David hates to admit that the curvy blonde's mesmerizing effect isn't limited to canines. But when Lyn's work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.
I am a dog lover and I have great respect for trainers and working dogs trained for the military. This book is a great story about such a dog who lost his handler. The story gets suspenseful by the minute as we follow David and Lyn's investigation to find out why is Atlas wanted so much by unsavoury characters. Atlas gets attached to Lyn the minute they meet and there is hope that he will recover from the loss. A few twists thrown in makes for an interesting listen. It ends up with a positive note with a HFN for David and Lyn and of course Atlas. First book from Ms. Drake and will check out the other books in the series for sure.
My first listen to the narrators and I really enjoyed their voices and variations for the characters. I will definitely check out their other audios.
Dominic Lawrence has planned this marriage proposal for six months. Nothing can go wrong-until his Nonna calls. Now he must interrupt the tenderest night of Katie's life with the news that another woman will be under their roof.
Great story, but I am not sure I liked Kath at the beginning and was wondering at Nico's patience with her, but I guess the heart gets what the heart wants. It turns out good in the end, but the road is hard for Nico and my heart went out to him at times. I especially loved the story told by Nico's Nonna to Kath about how she met her love and their courtship and Dante, her collie, was a big part of it. Loved the feeling it left me, the closeness of the whole family over the generations.
Mr. Jordan's voice is becoming a favourite with his warm tones and variations for each character, making it an enjoyable listening experience.

Eli Todd is a tall, handsome captain of a wagon train bound for Oregon. Life has taught him if he allows people into his heart, he ends up losing them. Amelia Cruthers is a pretty, young woman with a limp. She’s a hard worker who starts out the trip to Oregon with her parents, until they try to leave her behind. In shock, she watches them cross a river by ferry without her. Thankfully, the kind, strong Eli Todd takes her with him.
I liked the book, it was a story of good winning over evil, but the journey was quite hard. I wanted to smack Amelia a few times. Yes... I know how damaging self-esteem crushers can be, but didn't Eli show her at each turn that he can be trusted? She believes a woman who belittled her all her life and tried to kill her many times. What is Eli to do? I stuck to the end, I wanted to have a positive outcome after all that trouble and was rewarded with a sweet HEA.
Mr. Jordan's voice made it easy to listen to the story. This is my first listen and I like his warm voice, he gave the characters distinctive voices that fit their temperament. I will definitely check out his other works.
As a world-class dancer at the height of her career, Emily enjoys all the perks of fame - the parties, the glamour, the tours - but they've also attracted the attention of a dangerous ex-boyfriend hell-bent on getting her back. Enter Carter Kincaid, a bodyguard so crushingly sexy he takes her breath away. Carter's the best in the business, and Emily is - professionally speaking - off-limits. But when it comes to stirring his desires, she's making all the right moves.
Crazy ex, super famous best friend and a grumpy bodyguard is Emily's present life, but it gets better.
Pretty intense at times the story unravels and we find out more about both Emily and Carter's lives. I really liked Carter's character from the beginning and even more after finding out how he was raising his sister's son and shielding him from the spotlight. Their journey to HEA was not easy, but worth the listen.
Love listening to Mr. Arden's voice and this book is no exception. Ms. Bloom's voice is versatile and enjoyed most of the voices she gave the characters, but there were moments when I found some voices were a bit too high pitched for my ears.
