I have to apologize as I started with this book instead of number one. Which may be why I was both confused and completely unsure what was going on the majority of the time. Most books are best read in a series no matter how much they say stand alone. You just miss some of the little things way to much. I usually love dragon books so sorry I can’t rate it higher as I just could not “get it”. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. My suggestion is read 1-3 first.

"For the love of God, cut off my head." The last request in Uncle Silas's will shocks everyone speechless, everyone except his favorite niece, Anna. More than death itself, the claustrophobic Silas fears a premature burial. Will her elders carry out his request? Anna is certain they will not. It's up to her to do the right thing, even if it is a bit grisly. Armed with butcher knife and candle, Anna heads for the crypt underneath the church in the dead of night. All does not go according to Anna's careful planning.

Story is very old fashioned in every way. Still it had its moments. The tale itself was rather a gory subject and yet narrator pulls it out of the hat in a way that keeps you listening. Not my favorite book but nevertheless worth listening to if you like the more goth type story. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Not my cup of tea so giving it a pass. 👎🏻

Living alone on this mountain means fending for yourself, facing the elements, and handling whatever nature can throw at you. Like a girl, in the middle of nowhere, half frozen to death.

So if your looking for a short dirt and grits get down not much character building or grit to a storyline other then sex this is it! Narrators did a pretty good job except when one filled in the blank with their own voice for someone else then you kinda get thrown off so to speak. Lots of f bomb going on and can’t say it added one thing to the story kinda was a distraction. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. I did not rate it higher because of lack of characters strength and a real story. It’s just down and dirty over and over till the end! 👍🏻

This story dragged so much I could not even finish it. For a start the narrative is to blah no excitement, no zing at any point. I stayed with it more then half way and it continued to just be blah. The story itself could have been fantastic. But it just failed to deliver. Perhaps the written version was better? I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Honestly read it and skip the audio version. And I rarely say that. 👋🏻pass

Sometimes you take a chance on a new book because it calls to your own spirit. I have been grieving the loss of my mother since 2011. I still miss her everyday. Her laugh, her jokes. Her way of always being there even with six other siblings. Narrator did an excellent job. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Sometimes you brink and see the shadow of the one you miss. The turn of a head. A certain walk. Sometimes its angels reminding us we are never alone.
