From the New York Times best-selling author of The Night the Lights Went Out comes a stunning new novel. Author Karen White crafts evocative relationships in this new contemporary women's fiction novel about best friends who share a devastating secret, set in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
I LOVE Karen White!! I LOVE her books and this one, her newest now 2018, fits up there with GREAT, AMAZING, and PERFECT!!!
One does not get a hit of the book’s title until the bitter end and when it is read, you did not even realize that you even had a question about the title!!
Please Karen White, pick up your pencil and paper, your pen and paper, your laptop, your desk computer or even your quill and ink well (with paper), but start now, aw heck, even now seems a bit late, but get the new book written....please!!

Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child she thought she'd lost forever, her only daughter Anna.
I have read so many of Lisa Scottoline’s book....have loved each and every one...but this one actually had me, well, for lack of a better word, SPELLBOUND until the Epilogue, and I thank you for that!!
Now....how soon for the next one? 😄😉
After her divorce, Charlene Dugan vowed never to get married again - a promise she has kept for twenty-five years. Until the fateful day she finds herself uttering the well-known phrase - "Let's get married!" Almost immediately, Charlene's seemingly perfect life begins unraveling at the seams. Daughter Stephanie's own relationship is about to disintegrate, and she might be just a teensy-weensy bit jealous of her mom. And Charlene seems to be spending more time with her ex-husband than with her fiancé, Dennis.
I have read so many of Robyn Carr’s books but was VERY disappointed in this story. There was very little that was enjoyable. The one positive thing was that Therese Plummer narrated this story...the one redeeming value of this entire production!!
Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.
You will not regret purchasing this book!!!! Would be worth about 10 credits instead of just the one!!
Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan may be in South Carolina, but when a photo leads investigators in West Ireland to open a 25-year-old cold case, her life is suddenly in danger. Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she's made a career out of taking care of others. But after an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her - and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he's not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.
I beg of Lynette Eason to PLEASE keep this series going!!!
Your words have brought our emotions to the edge and I have so much love for this young family that I hope, with the continuation of this series, to be able to watch them grow as well as the rest of the Guardians!!
On the night their mother drowns, sisters Marnie and Diana Maitland discover there is more than one kind of death. There is the death of innocence, of love, and of hope. Each sister harbors a secret about that night--secrets that will erode their lives as they grow into adulthood.
but once I got past the first few chapters, I was not going to stop listening!! I love Karen White, so I knew I would love this story, and I was not disappointed!!
Maybe one day, Karen White could narrate a Karen White book...OMG...PURE JOY!!!

Restaurant owner and aspiring novelist Olivia Limoges is happily enjoying her new marriage. Sadly, the same doesn't hold true for Laurel, a fellow Bayside Book Writer. While struggling with a demanding job, twin boys, and a terminally ill mother-in-law, Laurel learns that her perfect marriage is mostly fictional. When she catches her husband fooling around with his mother's hospice nurse, she issues impassioned threats that will later come back to haunt her.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Say it isn't so!! We need more...please don't end this on such a sad note!!!
GREAT books....all of them!!

Olivia Limoges is the subject of constant gossip. Ever since her mysterious return to the small coastal town of Oyster Bay, North Carolina, Olivia has kept to herself, her dog, and her unfinished novel. With a little cajoling from charming writer Camden Ford, she agrees to join the Bayside Book Writers to break her writer's block and even make a few friends. But when townspeople start turning up dead with haiku poems left by the bodies, anyone with a flair for language is suddenly suspect.
but not the last.
This book was written a lighthearted (the AMAZING Karen White might have a little to do with that!) tone and with minor issues, developed characters very well!!
I love the book writers club created in this book and the love AND jealousy I have for Olivia's pup!!
Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, despite being as different as three women can be. Kate was beautiful, wild, wealthy, and damaged. Aubrey, on financial aid, came from a broken home and wanted more than anything to distance herself from her past. And Jenny was a striver - brillliant, ambitious, and determined to succeed. As an unlikely friendship formed, the three of them swore they would always be there for each other.
This story was very good and it kept me listening until the final 9 or so chapters and then it seemed that the author got tired and rushed much and left too many things opened...and it is not like these specific items could be a new book...we just will never know!!
With nine years and a turbulent childhood between them, Kendra and Jamie have never been storybook sisters. Now Jamie is offering a gift Kendra has long since given up hoping for, the fondest wish of her heart - a baby. Already raising two young girls on her own, Jamie wants to become a gestational surrogate for Kendra and her husband, Isaac. In addition to this amazing gift of life, Jamie has designed a new house for Kendra and Isaac and is overseeing its construction on Isaac's ancestral property.
Okay Emilie Richards....we would like to have more from this series please!! I would be happy to beg if you need to hear us do this...seriously, I am NOT above begging!!
I ❤️ your books!!
