August Shroeder, a burned-out teacher, has been sober since his 19-year-old son died. Every year he’s spent the summer on the road, but making it to Yellowstone this year means everything. The plan had been to travel there with his son, but now August is making the trip with Philip’s ashes instead. An unexpected twist of fate lands August with two extra passengers for his journey, two half-orphans with nowhere else to go. What none of them could have known was how transformative both the trip - and the bonds that develop between them- would prove....
A loving saga of friendship and trust. Coming of age and grief resolved between a man and two young boys forged in faith, hope, and understanding.
If one George Carlin audio is funny, then two are funnier and three must be funniest, right? That's our thinking behind this new collection. t's a HighBridge library of laugh-out-loud, award-winning recordings featuring George himself performing many of his best bits.
Great to hear some of his musings again. just as funny as ever. lots of wisdom in his humor.
Of all the glamorous stars of New York high society, none blazes brighter than Babe Paley. Her flawless face regularly graces the pages of Vogue, and she is celebrated and adored for her ineffable style and exquisite taste, especially among her friends - the alluring socialite Swans Slim Keith, C. Z. Guest, Gloria Guinness, and Pamela Churchill. By all appearances, Babe has it all. But beneath this elegantly composed exterior dwells a passionate woman - a woman desperately longing for true love and connection.
What a delicious NY gossip romp for my generation through the sharp eyes of Capote!

Torture. Ghost Detainees. And a massive cover-up that continues even today. Marooned in a Manila jail after a bar fight fatality, black ops soldier Ben Treven gets a visit from his former commander, Colonel Scott Horton, who explains the price of Ben's release: find and eliminate Daniel Larison, a rogue operator from Ben's unit who has stolen 92 torture tapes from the CIA and is using them to blackmail the U.S. government. But other players are after the tapes, too.
Eisler delivers another terrific plot
with solid characters. love his new protagonist! I hope there is more of Ben in the pipeline.
Almost all authors are lousy readers . . . not Eisler. He is outstanding and a superb actor and makes the characters come alive.

Two years ago, Darren Street made a name for himself as the man who rooted out corruption in the district attorney's office. Now the hotheaded young lawyer is in the public eye yet again - this time, accused of murder. Jalen Jordan retained Street for what seemed to be a minor traffic violation, but when evidence turned up linking Jordan to the death of two boys, Street wanted out of the case.
Again, Scott Pratt grabs you by the ears with a new character and cast. Tops! Couldn't stop listening ,, I strongly recommend and loved the narrator.

Public Defender Alex Stone is appointed to represent a homeless veteran who has confessed to the brutal murder of a prostitute. Alex is pressured to railroad the troubled vet straight to death row, but she believes he's innocent, despite his confession, and refuses to back down, putting her career...and her life...in deadly jeopardy.
Joel Goldman does it again . Good plot and characters to keep you listening to a top narrator. It really holds your interest.
Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”
Her voiice is too shrill and whiny. It ruins it. Too bad that authors" egoes get in the way.
