For budding costume designer Lola Nolan, the more outrageous, the outfit - more sparkly, more fun, more wild - the better. But even though Lola's style is outrageous, she's a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins move back into the house next door.
I enjoyed this when I first read it but man, listening made me realize how terrible she is. Not for me.

All her life Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lived with her shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie promises to put some mileage on her stiletto heels. But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt's South Carolina plantation instead - a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions.
The narrator just never clicked with me. She sounded so bored all the time. Still love the book. :)

Millions of people witnessed Emma Taylor's first kiss - a kiss that needed 12 takes and four camera angles to get right. After spending years performing on cue, Emma can't help but wonder if any part of her life is real anymore… particularly her romances. She's been burned by heartthrobs (and the press) one too many times, but there's something about Emma's co-star on her new TV show Coyote Hills that is irresistible. Jake Elliott is gorgeous, smart and actually cares about Emma's charitable foundation.
This made me freaking love this book even more! It's everything I could want from an audiobook.
