This story is barely a romance. It’s 6.5 hours of the hero being indifferent and at times mean to our heroine. The hero was simply awful for most of the story. He was unfaithful repeatedly with different women and couldn’t care less about our heroine. She in return was dutiful and caring with him. This made me so angry! I don’t understand how they actually fell in love. The last 1.5 hours a sort of mild romance developed. At the very end he finally shows true love towards the heroine. It felt too little too late. I finished the story because I wanted to know how it would end and the narrator did a very good job in this story. But I can’t recommend this story because it was too frustrating for me.

This story was different for me as I usually don’t listen to fantasy books but I found this so interesting. I like the fact that the story didn’t revolve around the romance. Several things were happening and we got a good introduction to the pack. Beautiful ending. Definitely want to listen to the next book. Great narration as well.

This has been the best book in this series so far. Very complete. Please note this is an historical fiction series and not just a romance story. I felt it was very complete and many things were happening that kept my interest and kept me wondering what comes next. The narration has been a lot better than in the previous books as well. Very enjoyable.

Good historical fiction story with a romance undertone. Please be aware this story may be a trigger to some as the subject of alcoholism and domestic violence is prevalent throughout the story. It was a good continuation to the series and you get to know what happens which the other two prior couples. The narration is OK although the narrators male voices are not that good.

The story is great with a slow buildup, sweet sexy romance and unexpected turn of events. BUT the narration is terrible. Neither narrator did an appropriate Scottish accent but Mr. Grindell sounded more French than anything. The narration was distracting but the story was still very good so it’s worth a credit. On to the next book.
