Once upon a time, I believed in fairytales. But then he took me. And he taught me that life isn't a fairytale. He is scarred. Broken. A dark and wild thing. His beauty is violent and his words are cruel. His heart is a shadowed landscape where nothing can grow. He tells me he could never care for me, and he proves it every day.

Two years ago, I made a deal with the devil. That night, I lost everything. That night, I thought he died. But he's back. Risen, like Lazarus, from the dead. And he's dark. Darker than he was before. Dangerous. Unhinged. A scarred, tattooed savage. The way he looks at me should terrify me, but I'm drawn to him, to his intensity. Consumed by it. By him. Even though I know if I'm not careful, his obsession will destroy me.

I like these books but they annoy the piss out of me at the same time. there are so many unnesicery B.S. things that happen or don't happen.
Some of it seems so far fetched. It makes .e want to scream. But I get the point of it all. It's just so frustrating how the writer makes the woman out to be so stupid or I don't know. maybe it's also the voice of the woman that annoys me sometimes.
These books could be so better if they aren't so wishy washy and and back forth. Urrrgg!

Rex Carter lives behind a wall of indifference. The demons from his childhood act as an anesthetic, keeping him distant from emotional connections. Only the ache from a knock to the jaw, the sting of a tattoo needle, or the heat from a piercing can jolt him back from the numbness. The fiery pain is all he can feel, and nothing compares to the burn. Or so he thought. Working in a Las Vegas bar isn't Georgia McIntyre's dream. But she hopes it'll be an end to the nightmare.

When everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need. Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets. With his fighting career in full swing, he's on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about. He won’t let that happen. Not again.

I hated the part she pushed him away when her awful evil pissant husband comes and she throws Snake out. it didn't make any sense and it so far fetched. H7ubbye could have stop that asshole before all of the BS started. I just think it was to unrealistic. she has freaking MMS Fighter right there for her and could have protected her and everyone from the start. I mean I get you had to make the book longer and after I got over t >and he disgust of that part of the book it was better but it was so f'ing annoying and frustrating. It makes woman look stupid and incompetent. I hate when writers do this. there was a better way for the writer to do that part of the book. "Ok so let's see Kick her hero/savior out and break his heart just for her to want to run away and and get rescued or whatever. it was my just to much. The book could have done without all of that BS. but other than that I get it and it as a great book.i wohld.have pissed if I played money for this book instead of having it in my romance package just for that part of the book. Try to knock the stupid shit out next time.

I thought it was a bit dramatic when she got pissed at home for not telling her about him paying that awful man off. I would have been nothing but thankful and appreciative but then again I would not have allowed things to get as far as it did. I mean why not just borrow the money from him and pay him back and that would have saved a ton of BS. I get the point of it all but still, It was bit to dramatic. Other than that it was a decent book. not the best but not bad. could of had more explicit detils in love making department also. Lol
