Esmeralda, one of the human survivors of an apocalyptic war, now lives a precarious life as a servant to a family of zombies. She knows she’s better off than many other humans, who are imprisoned in breeding camps and slaughtered for food. Her masters treat her well, and their young daughter reminds Esme of her own little girl, killed during the war. But Esme can’t forget everything she’s lost—or the knowledge that her masters could turn on her at any moment. When rebels interrupt the zombies’ supply of human food, Esme’s position becomes even more dangerous. And this time, the price of survival may be more than she is prepared to pay.

our heroine is hoping to see her lost love one more time in fact 1 more time a year and day. She is has been searching haunted houses and even makes a business of finding haunted houses for people to purchase. Well she walks in with more then she can bargain for when yes, she sees her boyfriend one more time, but also hears woman crying out for thirst from the basement but no one is there at the house she is staying at. And it gets worse and worse from there. You have to read this book. I couldn't stop listening it to. It was one of the better books I've read this year. And boy wait til the twist. Missy and her friends have convinced government officials that using supernaturals can indeed be managed. Such activities must, of course, be disguised or kept secret. The greater concern now is whether any enemies of the US might have supernaturals and, if so, how to deal with them. Meanwhile, Missy enjoys day-to-day life back at the academy until learning a mob war puts some of her friends at risk; she once again confronts the local crime boss, only to end up helping him.

What made the experience of listening to Missy Makes Mayhem the most enjoyable?

Summer Morton makes the characters come to life. The way she can change vocies, you always know what characters you are listening to. So many are humdrum anymore that you lose track of who is talking. Summer isn't like that. She has it going on!!!!!

Any additional comments?

P. G. Allison is a A+ writer of fantasy that just has a way of writing a good a were-cat-witch-warrior supernatural!!! And book 5 is even better then 1-4. by now Missy has found her soul mate and has seen the change of many different powers develop. Missy is always ready to kick butt and take names. the government has her on the move again and Missy can never turn down a job. This time she is fighting terrorists. But will she get to them to stop them in time...and if you think that's hot, then wait for her sex life. There is no stopping a shifter in love. This book (series) has it all. Love, sex, adventure, fantasy, lots of shifters and just plan fun and amazement. Great series and can't wait for the next one. Thank you dear Author for giving us some entertainment to fill a normally lousy day.

givin to me for a honest review.

Kate Tyler takes this book to the highest degree of humor, excitement and mystery. Loved her performance. Incredible talent.

Any additional comments?

Now I have seen some readers/listeners give so-so reviews of this book, but I found it delightful, humorous and addicting. I have read 1-6 but it's been a while so I was glad to see that there was additional novels coming out. I love our main character Dulcie, her sex appeal and her ability to constantly get herself in trouble, no matter what she's doing. Only one problem I would had liked to see more story line on Bram and Dulcie's relationship. It was going really good last book and it was kinda put to the side in this one. Dulcie being a fairy and being in law enforcement is a line of fantasy I haven't seen any other author approach. H.P Mallory approaches it at a fast running leap. I love her stories. This book does end on a cliff hanger, but it's going to be so worth the wait! Thank you to the author for bringing such extraordinary characters to life.

Any additional comments?

( A FEW SPOILERS) ok, this is again, one of those books wrote like your audience is 12. The Harper's, a long line of supernatural killers from centuries past. The oldest daughter in the Harper family receives magical strength, a cool sword that magically comes out of her wrist and the skills to fight an army. Right from the beginning we play stupid with the intelligent reader. The two Harper sisters are shopping for Christmas, they know the boogie men come out at dark, yet they are walking to their car like it's broad day light. suddenly they are attacked by 8-10 vampires, the oldest sister, the chosen one is kicking butt and taking names but the younger, but adult sister is cowering behind her car door. (by the way being a Harper even though not chosen does have some weak powers) The girls is so petrified she can't come up with a spell in her head to help her sister so she just watches. She is in so much fear she can't move while her older sitter is fighting for their lives. Then the vampire in charge tells the chosen one, give up or your sister dies. And what does the famous Harper do without a further fight? Let's the vampires tear her apart from her neck down to her abdomen and yes it was made graphic, and the little sister gets chewed on and mixing her blood with vampire blood is going to having her dying a painful death. So she basically has 6 months to find her sisters killer or she won't be able to rest after dying. And she is so dang dumb at it, it's not even funny. She and her sister has been training their whole lives for this but yet she never thought she would ever become "The Harper" THE END Don't bother if you have intelligence I only listened to the second to book to find out what happens to Jude the just as stupid vampire that is in love with her.

The story was very lacking. The author either talks to her audience like their 12 or totally leaves things out, like you should know them but don't figure it out til later. BUT don't give up keep reading because 1 the narrator is fantastic and I did end up going on to book 2 and book 2 it was like our writer found her writer legs. No more talking down to the audience, she reminds you of things in book 1. Even though this book is not the best, read it take a chance because the 2nd one is really good and looking forward to the third.
